Clinique Kohl Shaper for Eyes

A long time ago I received the Clinique Kohl Shaper for Eyes in the color 03 Blackened Taupe and I love it so much it's been in my bag ever since. However, Clinique has discontinued this color, and with my recent purchase of the Chubby Sticks in 13 Mighty Mimosa and 14 Curvy Candy, I also picked up another Kohl Shaper in 204 Black Coffee.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Part II

After trying the 3.7mL/0.13fl oz. deluxe sample tube of Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Anti-Aging, I liked it so much I went back and bought the 11mL/0.37fl oz. full size, as well as the full size of the Original in the Shadow Lockdown Set, and a different color, Greed, separately.

Clinique Chubby Stick Part III

There was a decent Clinique GWP promotion during the summer, so I took the opportunity to pick up two more Chubby Sticks in the colors 13 Mighty Mimosa and 14 Curvy Candy.

Buxom Flirt Alert Eye Duo

This Buxom Flirt Alert Eye Duo was another impulse buy, but unlike the Hello Kitty Charmy Kohl Eyeliner Kit, I wasn't so lucky with this. This duo comes with a tiny glass pot of supposedly waterproof cream eye shadow in the color Pug and an eye pencil in the color Onyx.

Hello Kitty Charmy Kohl Eyeliner Kit

This Hello Kitty Charmy Kohl Eyeliner Kit was a total impulse buy, one that surprised me in good ways, even if I haven't put it through the true wear test just yet (blame Stila and Pixi for that ^.^). I bought it for the tin anyway, and the kohl liners were bonuses LOL!

Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pen Part II

In the late spring of this year I started using a few more Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pens, although one looks like it's from an entirely different collection.

Tarte LipSurgence Part IV

I got my hands on a few more Tarte LipSurgence lippies ^.^ One is a Lip Luster from the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lips 2013 set, one is a Lip Stain purchased individually, and the last is a Lip Tint from the Tarte Thoughtful Treasures Best-Sellers Set.

I'm kind of confused with all the varieties available. There's the original Lip Tint which comes in two finishes: sheen (I have the colors Enchanted, Elite, and the new Skintuitive below) and matte (I have the colors Exposed and Hope). I don't love matte finish, instead I adore the one with that leaves a sheen because most of the colors are translucent and shimmer free, and they stain! And note that when I say translucent, I don't mean sheer. The color can be bright, bold, and pigment, but it can still be see through, like the new Lip Stain in Amused below, which I honestly cannot differentiate with the Lip Tints I have, because they all are identically translucent, shimmer free, and staining! And then there are the Lip Cremes (I have Admired, Loved, and Carefree), which confused me even worse. Admired and Loves are translucent and shimmer free just like the Lip Tints, while Carefree have shimmers, just like the Lip Lusters (I have Escape, Sweet, and the new Glitzy below)! And oh yes, the Lip Lusters, with shimmers but otherwise equally translucent colors. And I don't quite understand why some of them says "Natural" on the packaging while others don't. *cue the jokes*

Anyway, I'm okay with some shimmers, and I'm trying hard to overlook the slightly sweet taste. But other than the confusing varieties, these have really grown on me with the strong and long lasting minty sensation. Granted, some colors I reach for more often than others, but if it weren't for their retail price I'd probably go nuts and try every color ^.^

Koyudo Brushes Part II

A few more Koyudo brushes to show you ^.^ No fu-pas this time although I'm saving my points up for them!

Quick notes for this batch:
1. All brushes were photographed pre-wash. Unlike the Hakuhodo brushes, the smaller Koyudo eye shadow brushes are starched, which means measurements are totally off for those. I don't mind taking post-wash pictures, but it means lengthy delays and whatnot.
2. Despite some brushes being starched in the pre-wash photos, for visual folks like me a seeing is still better than nothing. CD Japan isn't too great about pictures and measurements of the Koyudo brushes.
3. Again, cameras don't have the same depth-perception as our eyes. Measurements are only estimates and not so much engineer-precise, plus the starching of the brushes.
4. Brushes are listed by collection, then model number.
5. I broke my no-squirrel rule for this batch too ^.^

Brushes in this batch, in order as pictured from left to right: BP016, BP024, BP033, and BP044.

Hakuhodo Brushes Part II

More Hakuhodo brushes, several of which were birthday gifts from my birthday a few months ago ^.^ I have already explained my pros and cons for these brushes so I won't repeat again.

The black is actually the Soft Case MM (Po900Bk), which has 17 pocket slots. I paid $22 when I bought it but I see now its price has gone down to $19. To be honest, I hate to say anything bad about Hakuhodo but this soft case is a POS, so I'm not going to even bother posting pictures of it. It's plastic, I understand that, so I wasn't expecting super nice genuine leather, but still I was appalled to see how poorly made mine is. The stitchings are all crooked and warped, and overall it looks and feel cheaper than many of my Japanese magazine freebies :( May be mine is from a bad batch? This is not to mention its pockets are too deep for the brushes they're supposed to carry, and Hakuhodo's brushes have longer handles than most Japanese-made brushes! Among all the brushes I own, only the Stila long-handled brushes like the #34 Jewel Eye Shadow Brush fit in it. Since I don't have many long-handled brushes, the case is mostly empty. Come on, Hakuhodo, I know you can do better than this!

Just a few more notes before we move on to the brushes themselves:
1. All brushes were photographed pre-wash. My brush heads don't feel like they have been starched, nonetheless after washing, most certainly sizes and shapes will change, with some hair types fluffier than others.
2. I bothered with measurements because sizes do matter, and it's my pet peeve that Hakuhodo only pictures the hair length and lists the rest in numbers. It's a lot of work to take all those damn pictures, but for visual folks like me a string of numbers doesn't say much. I need to see the measurements.
3. Cameras don't have the same depth-perception as our eyes. So despite my best effort, measurements are only estimates and not so much engineer-precise. They should still give you a pretty good idea though, which is the whole point.
4. Brushes are listed by the model number, irrespective of collection, hair, or handle.
5. I'm not a collector. All my brushes are of the standard black handles, because I don't want to have to think about care and maintenance for the handles too, jeesus crisp! For "beautiful" brushes, please consult the google instead.
6. I prefer versatility over luxury, I use a whole lot of liquid formulas, and despite the dryness my skin isn't super sensitive. But I did break my own rule and got a couple of squirrel hair brushes xD

Brushes in this batch, in order as pictured from left to right: J104, J122R, B/G522, J531, J533, J544, G5514, B/G5520, J5521, G5526, and G5528.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

In addition to the Sephora Give Me Some Lips, there's also the Sephora Favorites Draw the Line that comes out every holiday season. It's just that I never gave a rat's ass about eye liners before and thus didn't pay the Draw the Line set any attention. That was, until last year when my friend A. recommended Eyeko's range of eyeliners to me, specifically the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner, a 0.04oz. mini version of which was among the Draw the Line edition 2013. Yup, pretty much my cue to pick up the set.

Victoria's Secret VS Pro Smooth FX Lip Scrub & Balm

Last of my Victoria's Secret clearance loot this past June is the VS Pro Smooth FX Lip Scrub & Balm, which was actually more expensive than all the other items at $8! This is a pot of sugar scrub for lips. The screw-cap houses a balm with a flip-top lid.

This is actually my very first lip scrub, and I don't like it at all LOL Honestly, it feels just a bunch of sugar in an emollient, vaseline-like base... Oh hell, what am I talking about? It IS a bunch of sugar in an emollient, vaseline-like base! I hate my lip products to have any taste at all, scented is okay, but not taste, so right away I hate that I'm actually rubbing sugar on my lips, because it tastes like, well, sugar on my lips. And if that's the case I'm better off making my own lip scrub with cane sugar and coconut or almond butter, in case I accidentally ingest some it won't poison me ^.^ And I save $8!
