Having finished the nth bottle of Sunkiller Perfect Strong Moisture, I decided to do something different and added this 60mL Curel UV Protection Milk SPF50+ PA++++ to my lineup of sunscreen milks.
Currently, the lineup includes Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen Aqua Booster Mild, Nivea Sun Protect Water Milk Mild, and Biore SaraSara UV Perfect Bright Milk) to mix and match, with the current working cocktail being Anessa, Biore, and Hada-Labo Koi-Gokujyun Perfect UV Gel as I'd gotten bored of the Allie gel.
To tell the truth, I picked this up solely because the packaging says it can be used on a baby's skin. Once I looked it up though, to my utter delight I learned it's free of octinoxate and oxybenzone! Woot woot! That's three, folks, with Anessa and Nivea above I now have three tenacious milks with strong SPF/PA protections that are free of octinoxate and oxybenzone. Yeshhh! Hello, beach vacation here I come! Hey, a mama can dream, right? Until our little one can sit through a 30-minutes car ride without throwing a tantrum, we're not going anywhere. But in the meantime, I have three sunscreens that aren't going to destroy coral reefs, hooray!
Anyway, in addition to being fragrance and alcohol-free, the active ingredients are zinc oxide (酸化亜鉛) and titanium dioxide (酸化チタン). Naturally, I expected the same totally opaque white milk as Nivea, may be even the same crazy matte finish. And yes, this Curel milk is indeed opaque and white, however it shocked me with its light and thin texture. Not runny, but light and thin, like most sunscreen milks, pretty impressive so far.
As with all sunscreen milks, I tried this Curel one on just by itself to test setting time and finish. As expected, it takes forever to set and shifts around in patches when I attempted to quicken the process via massaging it in. However, it does eventually set and evens out to a dewy matte finish with a very slight, not really noticeable white cast. Likey, but I didn't stop there. I tried it in a cocktail, of course.

I tried a mix of 25 drops of this Curel milk with 15 drops of Biore Bright Milk. This mixture set much faster, however for some odd reason it was also much harder to massage in. The finish also had a noticeable white cast. Weird. So I went back to using the Curel milk, and for the first time in a long, long time I actually enjoyed using it alone without mixing. This stuff is hoard-worthy and of course I bought backups ^.^

I like it for cooler months how it leaves my skin moisturized but hate the smell...Anyway, I am back to Anessa (and waste lot of tissue to blot it). There is one by NOV that feels very nice on face, it's just really low spf32, should be great for winter though.

Woah, you mentioning the smell made me go get my Curel bottle and sniff it. I didn't even notice any smell! And NOV has a sun stick too, and for some 3,000yen too, if I remember correctly!
Perhaps blotting Anessa with a sunscreen powder so you get double protection while at it?
