Sisley All Day All Year Essential Anti-Aging Day Care

When First Aid Beauty Coconut Water Cream didn't work out, I immediately moved on to this 9.7g/0.34oz. tube of Sisley All Day All Year Essential Anti-Aging Day Care for my daytime routine. I received this tube from Caty's generous swap package last winter and am slowly enjoying my way through it all. Thank you again, Caty!

This is a really lovely day cream that's slightly thicker in texture than Dr. Roebuck's No Worries Hydrating Face Moisturizer. It initially smells like Noxema but soon settles into a woodsy herbal scent that's a little strong but not unpleasantly so. Like Dr. Roebuck's, it absorbs right into my skin and leaves it nice and soft. It layers well under my sunscreen too and keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day. Likey!

In theory, I would totally buy the full size. However, looking at Sisley's US website for this product, a few things gave me the pause. The first thing that jumped out at me was the retail: $410 for 49g/1.7oz. full size pump bottle. Holy macaroni and cheese! To be honest, I'd be happy using good ol' cold press virgin olive oil as moisturizer if it didn't dissolve my sunscreen too, so to spend that much on a moisturizer is just unthinkable to me. This made me all the more grateful to Caty for such a generous gift! I would have never gotten to try something so luxurious like this otherwise.

Secondly, the product page for this cream claims an "Anti-UVA-UVB shield". Yet at the same time, the cream doesn't have any SPF or PA rating, not that I could see on the page or on the tube itself. Erhhh, how does this cream "shield" against UVA and UVB then?

Finally, the product page only lists key ingredients and not the complete ingredients. If I was going to shell out $410 for this cream, at least they could tell me what's in it, no? Since skincare and cosmetic is an unregulated industry, I would appreciate some transparency when it comes to ingredients. Luxury comes at a price, I understand that. However, I'm not sure luxury always means blind trust. Given how wonky and lacking the product info is, I probably wouldn't spend my $410 there. The "mysteriousness" of it all is kind of off-putting to me, especially in a skincare product.
