Anna Sui Lip Rouge Jar

When I first got the Anna Sui Lip Rouge, I was put off by the strong rose fragrance it has. Not a big flowery person, you see. In fact, flowery fragrances, especially that of roses, all give me a headache. But then I like the color I got, #300, a lot, so I stuck with it and hasn't regretted it since.

#300 looks red in my picture, but it's not quite red. It's an opaque tomato red with very very fine shimmers that are not visible unless view under direct light. It goes on matte and adapts well to my natural lip color, packing a good punch. I got used to the rose scent after a while too. The only I don't like about the gloss is its price - it's a complete rip off, just a touch better than the Stila Lip Glaze with 0.12 oz. in the pot (versus 0.08 oz. in the Stila Lip Glaze) for the same price! Oh well, Anna Sui has discontinued it anyway! Phew! They saved me from myself :P

  2. Hi Gezebel!

Yeah, I'm not a big flower person, may be except for flower stickers :D Those Rosebud Salve takes some getting used to. I review a bunch of them too a couple of months ago (I think...). My favorite is the Minty Rose, the rest is okay. Have you try the Minty Rose?

  3. Awww you don't like floral? That is the main reason I waste a huge chunk of my money on many mediocre Anna Sui stuff...

I guess we will never fight over for a product at the store then...

Actually ever since I was little, my mom liked to dress me in clothing with floral pattern and buy stuff like handkerchief, cups, blanket etc. with huge flowers on them, the idea kinda stuck with me, so now...I tend to pick up anything with pretty flowers on it unconsciously...The three brand that I usually lost control to (lancome, anna sui, stila) all have floral as their pattern and out of all Japanese cosmetics with nice package, I am only interested in Anna Sui, Paul & Joe and Ayura...

I have a butt load of floral cloth as well, just too scared to wear them too class, those guys in my department will laugh their asses off...

  4. Hi Citrine,

exactly. you can have all the floral stuff, i'll take the fruity stuff :D

i was pretty much a tomboy growing up, never played with dolls, never wore anything floral, only stripes or solids. a little floral is okay with me as i got a little more feminine throughout the years. but i still haven't thoroughly shaken off the tomboy out of me yet :D

oh by the way, i've been curious about Ayura, how do you like their stuff? how's the quality? (hopefully not mediocre like Anna Sui). any recommended items to try? where do you get your Ayura?

    Thanks in advance!!!!

  5. I think I am pretty much more of a tomboy than you are...I talk like a boy: When not in beauty blog, I only say works like: awww, cute when I am sarcastic...on top of that (being in a geek exclusive department) I started to behave like a guy too: I wear whatever I see the first thing in the morning, I sit with my legs open...see, it offers support, comfort and it's good for he blood circulation, my mom would probably freak out if she sees me doing that...I have been in a piano forum for years and everybody thought I was a guy until I post a picture of my hand span...(with glitter nail polish...)

As for Ayura, I actually haven't tried their stuff yet, I don't like the current black tulip package and it's waste of money to get more cosmetic products when I have found some perfect items for a routine already...Do I even have a routine?

However, you can poke around PJ (a touch of blusher)'s blog and this

It has swatches and stuff...If PJ's description are not enough...

    6. My room is as messy as a guy's..not bragging or anything, but it does look like it has just been robbed...
