Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream

I don't usually pay attention to American drug store brands, so I wasn't aware of the existence of this Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream until I got a sample of it from a magazine, Elle I think, though it could have been Allure.

I tried the sample and liked it, so I bought a jar and brought it with me to Japan, thinking it might be a great warmer weather moisturizer, especially with the humidity here. Well, I didn't get to it last fall and got too antsy to wait for another few months for the cold to go away so I pulled it out and gave it a try.

Without an ingredients list, I cannot tell whether this is a moisturizer or a hydrator, so for now I am categorizing it under both labels. If you happen upon a list of ingredients somewhere, please do share!

This is a nice and cooling gel cream that comes in a 1.7oz. glass jar with a pearly white plastic twist off lid. That said, be aware that the jar is not completely filled to the top. See the picture below for yourself, the gel cream sat below the twisting lid lines and that was the very first time I opened the jar, so perhaps we are not getting the whole 1.7oz. as advertised. Other than that, I loooooove the fresh leafy and grassy scent with a touch of cucumber. It smells so nice and not too strong, at least it disappears rather quickly after application. The gel-cream itself is very very light, and I suspect it contains some alcohol due to the slight cooling sensation it gives my skin. My skin absorbs it instantly, and I mean instantly, and afterwards I forgot I'd applied anything at all!

In conclusion, I like it a lot. However, I am going to stop using it for now and will patiently wait until the warm weather comes ^.^ It is nowhere as adequately moisturizing/hydrating for my dry combination skin during this cold weather. I haven't given up on it completely, not just because I really like it and I want to give it another try, but because it wouldn't be fair to use a summer product during the winter and then claims it doesn't work. I'm not sure about your skin, but mine changes with the seasons and what works wonder during the summer wreaks havoc on the same skin during the winter. Like wise, what seems adequate for the winter becomes too heavy and greasy during the summer. Yes, in a roundabout way I am trying to say this Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream is definitely a summer product ^.^
