Ichikami Soft and Smooth Shampoo

Almost through with my full size bottle of Ichikami Soft and Smooth Shampoo. This shampoo is from the Soft and Smooth Set I bought in Japantown, after having a fantastic experience with the Moisture Shampoo from the similar Moisture Set.

Ichikami Soft and Smooth Set, with 530mL each of the Shampoo and Conditioner, and a 100mL tube of the Treatment.

I'm only reviewing the Shampoo because I'm "backed up" with conditioner and treatments. I've been buying shampoo and conditioner sets because they're a good deal, but a bottle of conditioner actually lasts me at least a year, if not more, since I only use it a few times a week, may be every other day. Similarly, a tube of treatment lasts me a long time, because I only use it twice a week. Hubby doesn't use conditioner or treatment at all because his hair is too fine and conditioners often weighs it down and makes it oily.

Interestingly enough, the Moisture Shampoo is clearly the better shampoo than this Soft and Smooth one. Sure, this one is very nice and it does make my hair soft, but the Moisture Shampoo makes my hair even softer. Same thing with hubby's hair. It's soft and smooth, but lacks the luster it had with the Moisture Shampoo. This one smells slightly different too, just slightly, being less fruity and more feminine. Again, I prefer the scent from the Moisture Shampoo, which means I will probably go back to the Moisture Shampoo when I'm done with this bottle. Over all, I'm glad I tried this shampoo, but I can recommend the Moisture Shampoo enough!

  1. I love this! I've been using it the previous time I lived in Japan, and now again, and the smell just feels... like home for me. (My boyfriend seems to like it as well. XD)
I have the orange one (mini version) at work, though. And just today, I bought Tsubaki for the first time because the rainy season makes me frizz like crazy and Picaso had it on sale or 200 Yen.

  2. Hi Julia!

Oohh...have you tried the mini orange bottle yet? I like this Soft and Smooth one, but for some reason the Moisture one (in the orange bottles) has that special fair dust effect ^.^

Yep, that's why I use Japanese shampoos here too. Sometimes they trick me into think I'm in Japan :D

    Cheers,

  3. Yes, I've tried them! (Actually, they're almost empty by now so I need to buy a new trial set for work. Which one should I get?)

I know what you mean! I ordered Ichikami through Sasa.com when I lived at home in Germany.

  4. Hmm...let's see, my other favorites are Shiseido Super Mild shampoo, Lux Super Rich Shine, and the Tsubaki Shining in the red bottle. Since you just bought Tsubaki, and if you haven't tried Super Mild or Lux, you should totally give them a chance ^.^

    Cheers,

  5. Thank you, I'll look out for them! Your reviews also got me interested in Ma Cherie.

  6. Oh, I totally forgot about Ma Cherie!! The Moisture one was great too, although the Air Feel turned my hair a bit oily!

You are so welcome ^.^ Glad I can help, if any!

    Enjoy your new shampoo!
