Holika Holika Hello Holika Chic Blusher

These Holika Holika Hello Holika Chic Blusher have been out for a long time, since the spring of 2011, I believe, although they're still available! There are 2 palettes available, #1 Breeze Kitten and #2 Twinkling Kitten. I actually bought both a couple of years ago, but they were packed away in many a moving boxes and I'm still slowly digging things out. So here they are, finally! Also, there was a limited edition(?) Merry Holika All Over Face Powder but I missed that one, obviously :(

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

Holika Holika is going for the cute with these blushers and they're making a killing! Because who can resist the kitty? No one, of course, which explains the reason these are still available 4 years after their initial release. Packaging is a black compact with kitty on the lid, although I do think the compact should be half its thickness. Both of the blushers are scented with a mild fragrance that doesn't bother me at all.

The pressed powder is pigmented, and smooth and soft to the touch. In fact, it's pigmented enough to be used on the eyes also, especially the lighter shades for eye base and highlighter. There's a top spray of glitter over the surface of the powder. After the first couple of uses the glitters wear off but the powders themselves are still shimmery. The effect they give is a shimmery glow so if you hate shimmers, stay away.

#1 Breeze Kitten: this is a blush and highlighter. I'm pleased that the blush part is pigmented, but I'm disappointed that the whole blush part (the kitty!) is less than 1/4 of the pan, so very little color. But otherwise this is a lovely warm highlighter. And while I describe the colors below, do note that the highlighting part won't really show as individual colors once applied.

1. An off white with fine pink shimmers. You won't really see the pink tint unless you look at it from an angle.
2. Warm shimmery pale pink.
3. Pastel peach with white shimmers.
4. Coral with peach and orange shimmers.
5. A candied orange with white and pink shimmers.
6. Lilac with white shimmers and very fine violet shimmers. Very pretty! It appears a cooler lavender in the pictures below than is in natural light.

#2 Twinkling Kitten: this one is a full highlighter, and again I describe the colors but they won't show up so clearly upon application.

1. A shimmery white.
2. A champagne with very fine gold shimmers, giving it a gold pearly sheen. I know it appears a canary yellow in the photos as well as the in the pan, but trust me it's a golden champagne and is a gorgeous one at that!
3. Pastel mint green with the same fine gold shimmers as the champagne above. But instead of having a gold pearly sheen, the shimmers give this color a multi-layer appearance. Very pretty!
4. Pastel pink with white and pink shimmers.
5. A peach beige with white shimmers.
6. Pastel blue with white shimmers.
