Canmake Eyeshadow Base

Here's the Canmake Eyeshadow Base I bought at the same time as the Lasting Multi Eye Base. There's only one shade available, and it comes in a very portable tiny square compact with a clear lid.

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

At first glance though, thought, aww damn, it's way too dark. You see, I've had two misses with Stila Prime Pots Taffy and Caramel, both of which are too dark for me even though I like their much thicker and drier texture. This Canmake Eyeshadow Base is creamy yet much lighter in texture, but this makes me nervous all the same because my lids are oily and don't deal well with cream anything.

Turns out I worried for nothing, as this base turns out to be another fantastic hit! Check out the swatch below -- it's actually quite lighter than how it appears in the pan, and it does provide light coverage to even out any skin discoloration on the lid. The actually dries faster than the Lasting Multi Eye Base and is just as excellent in keeping my eye shadow fresh throughout the night. I haven't experienced any creasing at all, though that said I've only used this base with powder shadows so far. I'm iffy to try this out with a cream shadow still, and when I muster the courage I'll update with any news.

  1. I guess I will try this base before the other Canmake base that you just reviewed :)

  2. Hi kuri,

Yeah, I find myself reaching for this eye base more so than the Multi-base, probably because I prefer a tiny little bit of coverage whereas the Multi-base is completely transparent ^.^

    Cheers,
    D.
