Here we are, four years later visiting Nagoya Castle again, right in the beginning of April when the sakura just bloomed. This time, J. came along with us. I'd been talking nonstop about Yamachan, and being a fellow wings-lover J. had to come along and give it a try.
But of course we had to eat lunch first a Chinese restaurant called "想吃担担面" at Nagoya Station. We didn't expect much but it turned out better than we thought, especially the almond tofu and sesame tofu desserts. Totally delectable!
After filling our stomachs, we went on to the main attraction. Boy oh boy we caught the sakura season at the most perfect moment too! Click photos to zoom.
Hubby was just as goofy as he was when we were here last.
With the sakura in bloom, I just had to point my camera and shoot. Just can't go wrong with sakura at any angle!
I was hoping to see the bugs exhibition again but sadly it was no longer around, of course. What was I thinking? Oh well...
So instead we just got the standard exhibition of daily life items, which was cool but wasn't as cool as the bugs, in my humble opinions at least.
Look at that gorgeous castle. Replica or not it's still awesome to look at.
Sakura abound!
And finally we got to Yamachan :) We actually went there wanting to have lunch, but it was a Saturday and they didn't open for lunch, which was the reason we went back and picked a random Chinese place at the station.
My goodness the wings were just as good as I remembered. Too bad the 3 of us were still full from lunch and didn't eat much. And now I'm craving it again... May be we'll come back in another 4-5 years LOL!
Back at the station, we were rushing to catch our shinkansen and came across this, umm, interesting display. Not sure if this meant they serve horse meat or what (it's not on the menu there...), but it sure got our attention! Until next time, Nagoya!
See my previous Nagoya Castle post.
Ahhh, I want that tofu dessert with sesame (maybe I should look up recipes).
ReplyDeleteHi Citrine,
ReplyDeleteThe sesame tofu dessert was good, but I'm partial to almond tofu myself...
^.^
