Canmake Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek

Last year, on a whim I picked up these Canmake Juicy Lady Liquid Cheek in 01 Rose Pop, 02 Mango Orange, and 03 Apple Cherry.

I'm still collecting the Balm Rouges and the Cream Cheeks, but it's been a really long time since I bought any liquid cheek product from Canmake. The last was the Whip Mousse Lip 04 Foggy Cherry in December 2012, which was actually a multi-purpose product for lips and cheeks but they were so awesome on the cheeks I never bothered using them on the lips. So of course these Liquid Cheeks caught my eyes when they came out. I was hoping for something similar to the Whip Mousse Lips that I love (and still use!).

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

These are pretty great even if they're totally different from the Mousse Lips. For one, they're about half the size, which is fine with me. I doubt I could ever use up any of these tubes anyway. Secondly, they're a thinner and runnier formula, with nail polish-like consistency (and none of the stink, thankfully) applied via a fuzzy doe-foot applicator. Finally, these leave a translucent, shimmer-free, and pigmented watercolor finish--think a liquid version of the Canmake Cream Cheek Clear Series.

- 01 Rose Pop: Rose Pop? Nah, bubblegum pop! Even after blending and the bubblegum pink warmed up a bit, it was still nowhere near rose but more like a bright and fresh carnation pink. This is the sheerest and easiest to wear of all three colors. You can even see the translucency in the swatch and the blended finish is almost transparent. So don't let the bubblegum pink put you off.

- 02 Mango Orange: pigmented reddish orange. A tiny little dab will suffice.

- 03 Apple Cherry: swatched a bright red but blended out more neutral. This color is the most pigmented of all three and is not to be taken lightly or you'll walk around with clown cheeks.

  1. I think I will stick with the cream cheek. I am usually a little heavy handed that these will go clown face on me...

  2. Hey Mina,

I would stick with the Cream Cheeks too, because it's user-friendlier and travel-ready. Pigmented liquid cheek colors are too "advanced" for noobs like me ^.^"

    Cheers,
    D.
