Biore UV Mild Care Milk SPF30 PA++

Since the beginning of June, my little one's school has been hosting a weekly Splash Day when all the kiddos come to school already in swim gears and get to splish-splash to their heart's content. Usually, for daily use I go for the easy-on-easy-off stuff, Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel for Kids, and the school requires sunscreen application prior to arrival regardless (they reapply in the afternoon too, using the All Good Kid's Sunscreen Spray SPF30, will post later). However, outdoor water play on a clear and sunny day is a whole different game, one that calls for a sunscreen that's *not* easy-off.

Enters this 120mL bottle of Biore UV Mild Care Milk SPF30 PA++, a sunscreen for kids in a more tenacious milk formula. Funny enough, I bought two each of this Mild Care Milk and a stronger Kids Milk SPF50+ PA++++, the latter of which I'm saving for longer play dates at the outdoor pool (will post later). Somehow, I was sent one each of the old and new packaging for both sunscreens xD Actually, for the Kids Milk, the bottle with the red apple was a 2018 limited edition with apple fragrance.

Old 2017 packaging (left) and new 2019 packaging (right).

This is an opaque white milk that's easy to apply and quick to absorb. It leaves a matte finish and a slight white cast. The matte-ness took me aback the first time I applied it onto my little one and used the extra on the back of my hands. Thankfully, we haven't had any trouble removing it in the bath at the end of the day. We just use however much shampoo leftover from his hair to wash his face and body (from Mustela, will post later also).

The main active ingredients are octinoxate (メトキシケイヒ酸エチルヘキシル), titanium dioxide (酸化チタン), and Tinosorb S (ビスエチルヘキシルオキシフェノールメトキシフェニルトリアジン), so a mix of blockers and filters, more so filters than blockers. After these two bottles, I won't repurchase due to the octinoxate, but for now they'll suffice. They probably won't last very long anyway, as I have to apply all over his face, neck (front and back), ears, upper back, arms, and legs. That's a lot of area to cover.

Splash day gear ^.^
