Cle de Peau Beaute Intensive Fortifying Emulsion

About a month ago, another generous care package from Caty arrived at my door (thank you, Caty!). Among the goodies were this full size 125mL/4.2fl. oz. pump bottle of Cle de Peau Beaute Intensive Fortifying Emulsion and another 12mL/0.4fl. oz. travel sized tube of the same. Caty said her skin is sensitive to scented stuff and she didn't care for this emulsion. However, it's also mostly full so I get the pleasure of trying it ^.^ Lucky me, and thank you again, Caty!

This is a runny pink milk with the same scent as other Cle de Peau skincare products, a warm and feminine powdery fragrance. I don't mind the scent but I do admit it's on the strong side. Point is, I see why folks with sensitive skin like Caty might not like this.

The instructions say to dispense two pumps onto a cotton pad and wipe the face with it like a toner. I thought this was odd, especially considering it's a milk and a pretty moisturizing one at that. Why would I want a cotton pad to soak it all up instead of putting it directly onto my skin? Even with a watery lotion, I just pour some into my palm and pat it onto my face. For cleansing waters, I use a facial cloth. Otherwise, I only use cotton pads to remove eye makeup prior to washing my face with a cleansing oil.

After a few weeks of nightly use, I can I say quite like this emulsion. As mentioned above, it's very moisturizing, and it leaves my skin velvety soft. I find that two pumps are way too much, and I actually only need a little less than one pump to liberally cover my entire face and neck. Overall, this is great stuff, but I'll be ready to move on after finishing this bottle.

  2. Hi Caty,

I am, all thanks to you :) And I'm slowly making my way through my queue. I also just received my EMS package with the Lunasol Seamless Mattes too, but it's been gray and cloudy and I'll have to wait for the sun to come back out to take photos. No worries. Considering where I am, the sun won't be away for long ^.^

    Cheers,
    D.
