Visee Glam Shade Eyes

I found these Visee Glam Shade Eyes on sale at Adam Beauty (not affiliated) around the summer of 2013. Originally I'd skipped over these as I read that they weren't Visee's best, but at the time I was kind of, umm, desperate for some Japanese eye shadows as it's been kind of a long dry spell :( So I picked up 2 palettes BR-2 and GR-5, as well as the two limited edition Aula Aila palettes, which I will review next. These have been discontinued prior to Visee's brand revamp in 2013, but you can still find them on E(vil)bay.

Visee Glam Shade Eyes BR-2 and GR-5. All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

Turns out these weren't bad at all! They may not have the damp and moist texture as in the Glam Glow Eyes, but still pretty smooth and soft. And the color pay off is great! I guess it's because I stayed away from the supposedly much drier and patchy purple palette(s), but I'm really glad to have tried these out after all! And on sale too ^.^

Each of these palettes has a decently pigmented base and highlighter, although for some reason this shade is drier than the rest. The lid shade is metallic and the medium crease shade is semi metallic, both are finely milled, pigmented, and blend well. The liner shade is very pigmented also. The sparkly top wash is the softest of all and is almost transparent!

- BR-2: a lovely neutral plummy taupe palette that's easy to wear. And skipping the sparkly top wash will give you an office appropriate palette of neutrals.

From left to right:
- Base/highlighter: shimmer, medium intensity. A pink-tinted soft white.
- Lid shade: metallic, medium intensity. A very pretty plummy taupe.
- Medium crease shade: semi metallic, high intensity. A taupe plum.
- Liner shade: shimmer, high intensity. Taupey charcoal with multi-hued shimmers.
- Sparkly top wash: high shimmer, very sheer. Looks an off-white beige in the pan but goes on almost transparent.

- GR-5: an olive and otherwise warmer green palette, as in the green leans yellow, not blue. I haven't worn this yet, being most afraid of the faded leaf green lid shade.

From left to right:
- Base/highlighter: medium intensity, shimmer. Ivory.
- Lid shade: metallic, medium intensity. A faded leaf green with lots of yellow in it, much so that any more yellow and it risks turning into a puke green :X I'm kind of scared of wearing this color, because all that yellow will probably make me look ill.
- Medium crease shade: semi metallic, high intensity. A beautiful olive green with pink and gold shimmers. No really. It's very pretty.
- Liner shade: shimmer, high intensity. A green-tinted black with multi-hued shimmers.
- Sparkly top wash: high shimmer, very sheer. Looks ivory in the pan but goes on almost transparent.
