Milani Eyeshadow Primer

I first learned about this Milani Eyeshadow Primer from my friend A., then a few days later Citrine reviewed it on her blog, which I took to be a sign that I'd better try it too. So I went out to my local Walgreens (was still in SF at the time) to pick one up. I don't know how many shades are available, but I only saw 01 Nude at the time so that's what I have. Boy it's in a huge tube, 9mL/0.3fl oz. -- that's more than double the size of a full size Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion that's only 3.7mL/0.37fl oz! Given that I only use a pin's head amount at a time for both eyes, this tube will probably last me forever.

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

This eye primer comes in a practical squeeze tube. The primer itself comes out a firm cream in a pale skin color. It blends to match my skin tone almost exactly and dries to a translucent finish. I can't help the comparison with UD Primer Potion above but I honestly can't tell the difference between the two, both work just as well, keeping my eye shadow fresh and crease-free even after several hours of wear. Keep in my I have very oily lids and most cream shadows are busts on me so this is quite a feat! So definitely give Milani a try if you're in the market for an eye primer, it's a fraction of the UD price, $6 vs. $20 at more than double the product content!

  1. Hmm... I may have to also pick this up.
How well is the lasting power of your shadows while wearing this. I have oily lids too and sometimes urban decay's potion primer gets kind of weird on my lids after a certain amount of time.

  2. Hi again CC,

My eye shadows lasted all day with this Milani primer without any creasing.

Etude House Proof 10 also works really well, but it's much smaller in size (and way less product content) and it dries extremely fast. So if you have oily lids but fast hands, you should give this a try also :)

    Cheers,
    D.
