Estee Lauder Signature 5-Tone Shimmer Powder

Wow, I really didn't realize I have so many baked powders, but here's another one - Estee Lauder Signature 5-Tone Shimmer Powder. It's one of the prettier powders from Estee Lauder, along with the Vivid Garden Illuminating Powder from 2009 and Tender Blush in Peach Nuance way back in 2007. But other than these, their blush/bronzer range don't interest me much. The pretty collectible gold compacts are really nice and is a rather unique feature of the brand, but the refills for those are limited to just the Lucidity Translucent Pressed Powder, and honestly how many identical translucent powders do I need? I wish there are more choices of powder for those refills.

Anyway, this Signature 5-Tone Shimmer Powders is available in 2 shades, 01 Pink Shimmer and 02 Bronze Shimmer. I have the 01 Pink Shimmer. I haven't used it yet and have only swatched it for this post. As mentioned above, this is a baked powder, and as with my recent experience with baked powders it is on the smooth side and not dry. The only exception is the bright red color at the bottom right corner, which feels significantly drier than the rest. And being baked makes this powder more versatile and most of the colors can be used on the lids, though probably more as a base or highlighter since they're all light colors to begin with, on top of being sheer. If you're game, however, that bright red is bright enough to be used on the crease even with low intensity pigmentation. 

- 01 Pink Shimmer: All the colors have metallic pearl finish, again with the exception of the bright red color, which is more of a luminous satin finish. And unlike Laura Mercier Gilded Garden Shimmer Bloc that is more of a shimmery blush, this 5-Tone Powder is definitely a shimmer powder when all 5 colors are swirled together. The resulting color is a cool lotus pink, despite appearing a rather warm coral in the swatch. And given that it's sheer, unless you're fair it probably won't be anything more than a brightening shimmer powder, exactly as intended. And of course, if you really want some color, you can always swirl more of that bright red!

From top left corner to bottom right corner:
- Metallic pearl, very sheer. A pearly white with pink iridescent sheen.
- Metallic pearl, very sheer. A pearly pink with gold iridescent sheen. Gorgeous color!
- Metallic pearl, very sheer. A pearly carnation with a deeper pink iridescent sheen. This color appears warmer in the swatch picture, but it's definitely cooler in natural light.
- Metallic pearl, very sheer. A pearly princess pink.
- Luminous satin, low intensity. A satiny camellia red with some pink undertone and a slight satiny gold sheen. This color is so beautiful I really do wish they make a lipstick version of it too!
