Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier

Back in 2021, Caty generously sent me a luxurious care package (thank you so much, Caty!) that included some skincare items (Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx and Paul & Joe Treatment Balm L 005 Stollen) and two Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifiers, the 02 Red from permanent lineup and the LE 513 Break of Dawn from the Holiday 2020 Enchanted Lake Collection, and finally, a Radiant Lip Gloss in 103 Legend. And while I posted about the skincare items in 2022, it took me until now to post about the lippies.

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

This is what I mean with CdP's packaging being hit-n-miss: while the Radian Lip Gloss had meh packaging, I think the tubes for these Lip Glorifiers are just perfection! The metal--not plastic--lend them a substantial feel, and the tubes are slim and sleek. The LE collections have different themes and the designs are freakin' gorgeous!

"Regular" packaging, although there's nothing "regular" about it. I think it's pretty in an understated way.

And then there's the LE packaging. This particular Enchanted Lake Collection just breathtaking! I usually don't fall for the packaging but this beauty had me head over feels.

Thankfully, CdP's formulas are more consistent than their packaging: like the Radiant Lip Gloss, these Lip Glorifiers have a lovely formula! The texture is balmy, if on the thin side, and while I do wish it was a touch thicker, it's very moisturizing and does last for quite a while. There's a nice sheen to the finish that's not exactly glossy, but enough to dress up the lips. Whether CdP meant to or not (most probably not), I think it's tongue in cheek that they named this product "Lip Glorifier," because when it comes down to it, this is basically a glorified lip balm in luxurious packaging. But I'm happy to pay for the luxurious packaging--that's how nice it is.

As of 2022, there are 4 "colors," although all are pretty sheer, and each "color" has their own scent and "feel": 01 Pink (rose scented, with a tingling sensation), 02 Red (mint scented, with a tingling sensation), 03 Coral (honey scented, but no sensation), and the newest addition is 04 Neutral Pink (ehhh...unscented).

- 02 Red: shimmer-free and transparent neutral red. The minty scent and tingling sensation are pretty nice. That said, overtime, I've noticed less and less of the mint and the tingly-ness upon application. So I think the scent and sensation both fade over time, which is too bad. I still love the lippie though.

- 513 Break of Dawn: shimmer-free and transparent violet. I didn't notice any scent or sensation with this particular color.

On a different occasion, I bought some CdP skincare and makeup (Refined Lip Luminizer and Lipstick Cashmere, will post next) and got Lip Glorifier Sampler Card with all 4 colors.
