The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Part V

Continuing with my Body Shop Shimmer Cubes series. In this batch are palettes 13, 14, and 16. These don't have names either, so the numbers are it. Also, there are comparison photos where appropriate.

Shikioriori Tsubaki Cleansing Oil

Almost done with this 150mL bottle of Shikioriori Tsubaki Cleansing Oil, which I bought in Taipei along with several other cleansing oils from Beaua and PharmaAct. Kumano Yushi owns both brands. And no, it didn't take me 3 months to finish PharmaAct Deep Cleansing Oil. In between, I went through another bottle of Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil.

This cleansing oil is another hit for me and I love it! It doesn't feel oily or greasy, and it doesn't feel too "cushy" or silicone-y either. The texture is just right, not too thick, not too thin. It rinses well but not squeaky clean so my skin doesn't feel stripped or taut afterwards. It is scented with a mild and slightly fruity scent that reminds me of lychee, though not to the extent of SK-II Facial Treatment Cleansing Oil. Too bad this bottle is only 150mL, because I'm really enjoying it! Not sure if I can find this online, but I will definitely repurchase.

Phytomer Perfect Visage Gentle Cleansing Milk

Hi. Sorry for going MIA for the past week. I'm in my second week of school and still trying to adapt to the new schedule.

Here's a short review for the 250mL/8.4fl. oz. bottle of Phytomer Perfect Visage Gentle Cleansing Milk. Hubby and I are using up this bottle at an astonishing rate. We're almost through with it after just a month of use!

This milk cleanser had a bad beginning though -- it arrived broken and spilt from an original order via Lovely Skin (not affiliated!). I bought it in a pair along with the Rosee Visage Toning Cleansing Lotion. The box arrived soggy because of the spilt cleanser, and when I contacted Lovely Skin and sent them these pictures, they asked me to send the order back, yes, as in the broken bottle with stuff still spilling out. So to prevent the return box from getting soggy, I had to put both bottles into a large ziplock bag. I ended up buying the same pair from a different store altogether.

The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Part III

These Body Shop Shimmer Cubes were my biggest summer project. I've been collecting these for years, since 2007. And yet I've only review a few, and even then, I only described and provided pictures for the dry colors and swatches. So earlier in the summer, I decided once and for all I will redo swatches for all of them, dry and wet, including the ones I've posted on before. Below is my entire collection, a total of 18 palettes, having skipped a few here and there because I didn't like the colors.

Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco, Part II

My sister and I happened to be out there on a sunny day with clear sky. The temperature was just right, in the high 70's where we didn't need a jacket but didn't sweat either.

Sutro Baths, San Francisco

After Marins Headland, my sister, hubby, and I headed over to the Sutro Baths at Lands End. Hubby and I have actually been here several times whenever someone visits, SIL and her hubby in fall 2013, A-san, and then my sister in June 2014.

The thing is, there's a good and bad time to visit Sutro Baths, the good time being earlier in the morning on a sunny day, the bad time being any other time past 4PM because it'll be foggy, windy, and freakin' freezing. The photos below were taken on a sunny day but later in the afternoon when the fog already arrived. So as you can see, even a sunny day can be a bad time to visit if it's too late.

Marin Headlands, San Francisco

Recently it's been cool and raining a lot where I am, pretty much the whole of May and June, right into the 2nd of July now. In fact, it's been so wet the whole damn state is blanketed in a thick fog-like mist. This is super unusual, because it's normally blasting sunshine and bone dry around this time of the year. The joke-du-jour is that we're getting Seattle weather, because they've been dry as hell and having lots of sun, and we're getting the rainy mist.

Anyway, this cooler weather makes me nostalgic for San Francisco again, because the summers there are actually cool, if not down right cold. Temperature hovers around the 70's and the evenings are windy and chilly with Karl the Fog rolling in. So I went looking through my pictures and realized there are a bunch of photos I haven't posted. So here they are, these ones of Marin Headlands and the derelict military sites. Click for larger photos.
I had to zoom the below info boards into 4 different photos.

Suisse Programme Caviar Lifting Cream

Just a quick post for this 7mL/0.25fl oz. pump tube of Suisse Programme Caviar Lifting Cream. I started using this around the same time as the Lifting Serum and Repair Eye Complex, and yet it took me 2+ months to use up this cream!

Guest Post: Chikuhodo Z-1 versus Koyudo Fuwafuwa

After my last Koyudo post, I had an interesting discussion with Yelena Zheng of Jaywalking Birdwalking Jabberwocky on the subject of the Koyudo Fuwafuwa. I had wondered how it would compare to something like the Chikuhodo Z-1. Yelena owns both and kindly offered to send me comparison pictures, but being shamelessly demanding I asked her to write a guest post instead. So here I present to you Yelena's post. Be sure to click on the photos to zoom!

Thank you so, so, so much, Yelena, for being so generous with your time and for sharing with us all this thorough post, complete with pictures!
