The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Part VII

More Body Shop Shimmer Cubes, ha. I'm a bit slow when it comes to learning to quit something. In this batch are palettes 21 Pretty in Pink, 22 Green Light, and 23 Bunch of Violets.

All pictures taken in natural light without flash. Clickable photos = zoom, so click and see ^.^

- 21 Pretty in Pink: this palette is the most perfect example of The Body Shop's blatant recycling of past palettes. See my comparison photos below -- it's identical to palette 16, as in all 4 colors, and it has 3/4 colors from palette 18. Urgh. So I won't bother describing the 4 colors from this palette, because they're nothing new.

Clockwise from top left:
- Velvet Pink: metallic, medium intensity (dry) and high intensity (wet).
- Soft Pink: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). This color gains some translucency when used wet.
- Stardust Grey: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet).
- Pearly White: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet).

See for yourself how shameless this color-recycling is :(

- 22 Green Light: at this point, I got so fed up and was about to quit these shimmer cubes when they came out with this palette 22 Green Light, which looks totally different than the previous palettes... NOT. After some careful inspection, turns out 3/4 colors from this palette were also recycled. See comparison photos below. Gah!

Clockwise from top left:
- Pure Turquoise: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A beautiful metalic turquoise that's along the lines of Pixi Endless Silky Emerald Gold and L'Oreal Infallible 337 Endless Sea. Wow!
- Mint Green: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). Metallic sea foam green.
- Forest Green: semi metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). Deep peacock green.
- Silver Grey: metallic and medium intensity (dry and wet). A silvered moss.

Here's a comparison between palettes 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, and 22. Can you hear me cursing in my head?

- 23 Bunch of Violets: I have an excuse for this palette ^.^" I actually did some comparing beforehand and made sure there isn't too many recycled colors. Yes, that Pearly White I've seen before, in palette 21 Pretty in Pink above with the same color name, in fact. But the rest look different enough (it's an excuse, I said!).

Clockwise from top left:
- Orchid Purple: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). Looks like an eggplant in the cube but is in fact a bluish purple. Makes a beautiful liner!
- Candy Pink: metallic pearl and high intensity (dry and wet). A cool shell pink that's unfortunately frosty due to the combination of the metallic and pearl.
- Velvet Plum: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A deep wine with a metallic pink sheen. Also makes a pretty liner!
- Pearly White: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A metallic soft white that gains some translucency when used wet.

  1. Lol, look at all those pretty stars...I think I will start with a deep turquoise one then see if I want to hoard. Now I am hunting down all the past limited edition loreal infallible (just missed out two European shades being too late) at least that seems easier on the checking account...
