Paul & Joe Lipstick Part VII

Paul & Joe has done away with their Lipstick and Lipstick CS lines, replacing them with the newest Lipstick N's also with three finishes, Full Coverage, Natural, and Clear. A while back, Beauty Habit (not affiliated!) was giving away a randomly chosen lipstick case with each Lipstick or Lipstick CS refill purchase, because the new Lipstick N's have their own new cases, sold separately of course.

So I bought a backup refill of 100 Kiss in the Park because the color is just perfect for me and is super easy to wear. And good thing I did too because they're no longer available, save for E(vil)bay. Anyway, while at it I also picked another Lipstick refill in the color 205 Strawberry Jam with Natural finish, and received a freebie Lipstick Case CS 036.

Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil

Half way through this 15mL/0.5fl. oz. dropper bottle of Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil from the Whimsical Wonder Argan Oil Skincare Essentials Set bought last winter (or was it the winter before last?). From this set, I've also reviewed the Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter.

Origins A Perfect World Antioxidant Cleanser

Back in August, Origins had a nice sale so I picked up a few things to try, including this 50mL1.7fl. oz. travel size tube of A Perfect World Antioxidant Cleanser.

My mom loves Ojon shampoos so I also bought two travel size tubes of the Moisture Therapy Shampoo for her to bring on her cruise trip with my dad.

Canmake Cream Cheek Tint

Being a loyal fan of Canmake Cream Cheeks, I dutifully tried and love the Lip & Cheek Gels as well. So when these Cream Cheek Tints came out, I had to give them a try too. I have the first three colors, 01 Fresh Pop Melon, 02 Happy Strawberry, and the LE 03 Peony Mellow.

There's also a new color I don't have, 04 Plum Cherry. I'm not sure if it's permanent or LE because it isn't listed on Canmake's official site. Either way, I'm not too sad because I'll be skipping it. Yes, I'm skipping it, and I should have skipped the first three also :(

Astalift Complete Makeup Remover Oil

Nowadays, I don't even have time to wear waterproof sunscreen milks anymore as they take a few minutes to dry. Instead, I just slap on the easy-on-easy-off stuff hubby uses like Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel and Essence before rushing out the door with baby. Melty sunscreen be damned (because I have dry combo skin versus hubby's normal skin). Cue future guilt trip line, "Did you know mama temporarily gave up waterproof sunscreen for you?!"

Anyhoo, this means opportunities to use cleansing oils are also far and few in between. Case in point: it took me almost 2 months to finish two 20mL bottles of Sofina Makeup Cleansing Oil. Bleh. Now I'm onto a 30mL/1fl. oz. bottle of Astalift Complete Makeup Remover Oil, which I hope to use up soon.

Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Cream

Been using this 7mL/0.25fl. oz. jar of Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Cream from the Ultimate Lift Wonders set, so here's a quick review for it.

Of course now that I got around to post about this cream, it's been reformulated as Uplifting Transformation Eye Creme also with a corresponding gel version, just like the Ultimate Lift Eye Gel I just finished.

The cream has a firm, gel cream-like texture, with only a faint scent of cucumber unlike the previous gel. It feels nice and light for daytime but is surprisingly moisturizing, and it layers well beneath sunscreen.

Wander Beauty Beach Balm

I bought this Wander Beauty Secret Escape Kit solely for its Beach Balm. Because the only thing that remains in my leaving-the-house routine now is lip colors, and may be a dab of cheek colors if I'm lucky, which is why I eyed this balm as it's supposedly for lips and cheeks.

I appreciate that there's only one color available, Sangria. I don't know about you, but huge color selections really overwhelm me. The fact that this balm is marketed as a sheer balm tint only makes it that much more fitting for my nearly nonexistent routine right now.

Wander Beauty Exquisite Eye Liquid Shadow

This Wander Beauty Exquisite Eye Liquid Shadow in Champagne is part of the Secret Escape Kit that I'd picked up on a whim. Wander Beauty is a new brand for me, and I would have never bought the set if not for that attractive Beach Balm in Sangria which I'll post next.

In fact, I'd say I bought this set for that Beach Balm alone, because liquid eye shadows and I aren't friends. My oily lids crease and melt the vast majority of them within thirty minutes. Now I'm stuck with a lip-gloss-sized tube containing a whopping 6.5mL of liquid eye shadow that would probably last me a lifetime.

L'Occitane Divine Youth Oil

Having finished up my second 15mL/0.5fl. oz. bottle of Caudalie Divine Oil, I dug around my stash and found this tiny 4mL/0.1fl. oz. dropper bottle of L'Occitane Divine Youth Oil. Like an idiot, I proceeded to slather it all over my belly and my butt after showering. Divine Oil, Divine Youth Oil, they're all the same, right?

Master Soap Soap Gifts

Update Thursday, September 7, 2017.

Four years after writing the below Master Soap Soap Gifts post, I'm finally, finally, finally through with the last bar of handmade soap bought from Etsy.

Sorry to say, but I won't ever buy anymore of those soaps. Sure, they look and smell nice and I'm supporting small businesses, but aside from a few, the rest either disintegrated into a puddle of slimy goo that clogged my sink drain or cracked up and crumbled into tiny pieces, forcing me to toss most at about 2/3 the way through. Urgh.

So I was more than happy to move on to these cutesy soaps from the Otomebakko (Maiden Coffret) I'd kept for myself and was promptly forced to eat my words. "Decoration soaps," I said, "used to beautify the bathroom counter or hallway accent tables, and use the larger cutesy soaps but temper your expectations". I was such an asshole, dismissing these soaps without trying them first!

Because you know what, we finally tried the usagi (rabbit) soap in the clear cellophane wrapper and, well, it turns out to be a fantastic bar of soap! It foams well and washes well without being too drying. Best of all, we're more than half way through the bar and it has neither melted nor cracked. To quote hubby, "This is the best soap we've used since coming home from Tokyo!"

The whole time in Tokyo, we were using mostly L'Occitane Bonne Mere soaps for our hands and liquid body wash for the shower. And with Tokyo being hot and humid, the Bonne Mere bars were great but here at home they're super drying. Considering we wash our hands all the freakin' time with a baby, it's actually quite impressive that the usagi soap hasn't deep fried our hands yet. Why the hell did we put up with all those crappy soaps while shelving these great ones for four years? Argh!!!

Guess who's doing some major damage via Master Soap's online store? They do ship internationally, by the way, and using EMS only, which means I paid an arm and a leg for soaps. But then I'd spent triple quadruple that before for the Etsy soaps, only to toss so many away. So I won't complain paying for good soaps. You can expect to see more of Master Soap.

Spotted these Master Soap Soap Gifts in Alpha Beauty UK's E(vil)bay store (*not* affiliated!) and snatched these up in a jiffy ^.^ If you live in Japan, you should check out Master Soap's website, as the Japanese retails for these adorable soap gifts are quite reasonable, between 300-2,700JPY depends on the size of the gift.

Also, it should be noted that the cutesy ones are most likely "decoration soaps" or scenting soaps, you know, to beautify the bathroom counter or hallway accent tables, etc. They do sell bath/hand soaps and you can certainly use the larger cutesy soaps, just temper your expectation accordingly ^.^ I haven't tried them myself so I can't really say one way or another, but I can tell you they are super duper cute in person and make excellent gifts and/or decorations for your family, friends, and home!
