Mark Celestial Eyes Shimmery Cream Shadows

I think I should stop having any kind of expectations for a product, because it almost always pleasantly surprises me that way. The Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Multi-Pencils did, and now these Mark Celestial Eyes Shimmery Cream Shadows as well! Actually, I might be speaking too soon, because I've only swatched these and haven't actually worn them yet. Creams shadows are always tricky with my oily lids, and in my experience there are only a handful of cream shadows that didn't crease on me, Visee Aqua Shining Eyes, Lavshuca Eye Jelly, and Lancome Colour Dose, all three of which have been discontinued, and the only one still available now is Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Colour.

Anyway, despite the risk of creasing, these Mark Celestial Eyes Shimmery Cream Shadows caught my eyes with their "artsy" pigment splatters and I bought them anyway. There are 4 variations available, Grey Storm, Purple Halo, Mint Sky, and Copper Dusk, and I thought they all looked kind of neat ^.^ I haven't seen a cream shadow like this before so I'll give props to Avon for going the creative route. But with that I have to say the packaging sucks. Think about it, it's a cream shadow, and when packaged like a powder shadow it's bound to dry out quickly, since that compact isn't air tight in anyway. But I guess very few cosmetics makers actually pay attention to the packaging of their cream shadows, and most put them in a pan or jar anyway. And I suppose Avon wouldn't be able to squeeze a dual color cream compact with pigment splatters into a tube ^.^

Mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Part II

Here are the rest of the Mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush I have. There are 4 colors available, Hush Baby, Chica, Love Rush, and Sandy, and I have already written about Hush Baby and Chica. Love Rush and Sandy took me longer to get to because Love Rush has no shimmers at all and is way more pigmented than the rest, and Sandy is a bronzer, which I don't really use at all. And even then I haven't used them, so this is only a preview post.

- Love Hush: the blush's matte-ness makes its color all the more opaque, as if it's not already pigmented. Just like the other Mosaic Blushes, here are 3 different colors in the pan, and they swirl together for a nice reddish coral flush with brown undertone.

Mark Earth Face Glow

I'm in luuuuurv with these Mark Earth Face Glow and went crazy looking for more backups but they're no longer available, anywhere. Boo. Hiss.

I'm so glad I gave these a chance when they came out. At first I scoffed at them, because, well, they're itty bitty. I know Mark makes their cosmetics on the smaller side, and I appreciate that because I hate gigantic bulky stuff, but these blushes have diameters that are a mere 1.5 inch! They're the size of a single eye shadow!

But that's about all I can rant about with these blushes, as they are fantastic otherwise. They come in 3 colors, Solar, Pebbles, and Quartz, and I'm so happy I bought all 3 colors. I must say though all 3 colors are quite sheer, so many folks out there must hate these, but I love them to death. They're baked and so not as smooth as they could be, but they're gorgeous going on.

Solar: marbleized champagne and pale fleshy pink and makes a glowing highlighter. As you can see, this is no blush at all.

Mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush

Bought these Mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush a while ago but didn't use them until now. There are 4 different palettes, Chica, Sandy, Hush Baby, and Love Rush, although I wish they would make more palettes because I want to collect them all ^.^ By the way, I feel the pictures of palettes online are, umm, way off, especially for Love Rush and Hush Baby, so I wouldn't depend on them to make a purchasing decision if I were you. I would suggest you google them for actual photos of the palettes.

Mark Snap To It Case

Each palettes has 3 different colors, all mixed up in a checker pattern, very pretty. You will have to buy the Mark Snap To It Case separately for these Good Glowing Mosaic Blushes, but the cases all have magnetic strips that can accommodate any combination of Mark eyes, lips, and cheek colors. The case is clear and straight forward with a thin mirror underneath the lid running length wise.

I bought all 4 palettes but have only used 2 colors so far, Hush Baby and Chica. These blushes have a nice and smooth texture, not too soft that they would crumble but not too hard that they would dust up a storm when I swirl my brush over them. They are unscented, which is a plus for anyone who is sensitive to fragrance. Pigmentation is varied, however, and that's the only complaint I have against them. I haven't tried the other 2 colors Sandy and Love Rush yet, and just judging from the pan Love Rush appears to be the most pigmented out of the 4 palettes and Sandy the sheerest.

Hush Baby: a very sheer pink with silvery pink shimmers. This is pretty much a highlighter as it is so sheer it wouldn't even show up on my medium-fair skin! Even after swirling a good amount onto my brush, all I see is shimmers.

- Top row far left, bottom row 2nd from left, and top row far right: looks brown but swatches a coral with brownish undertone.

- Bottom row far left, top row 3rd from left, and bottom row far right: looks rosy but swatches a frosty carnation pink that is on the cooler side.

- Top row 2nd from left, bottom row 3rd from left: looks coral pink but swatches a bright hot pink. This color surprises me the most because it swatches nothing like how it appears in the pan. Odd.

Chica: this is a decently pigmented blush, at least for me. On my cheeks it shows up a pinky peach, very nice! There are shimmers in this blush, but they don't really show up as shimmers, instead imparting just a bit of a glow.

- Top row far left, bottom row 2nd from left, top row far right: looks peachy but swatches a reddish coral with no shimmers.

- Bottom row far left, top row 3rd from left, bottom row far right: a pretty rose with very fine gold shimmers that doesn't show up. This color actually shows up true to the color in pan, only a tad more vivid.

- Top row 2nd from left, bottom row 3rd from left: looks nude brown but swatches a warm dusty rose with brownish undertones. This color also has very fine gold shimmers that doesn't show up at all. On the back of my hand, this color makes my warm yellowy olive skin tone looks a bit bruised. Good thing it doesn't look like that on my cheeks! Phew!
