Skilabo Aloe Extract Lotion

It had gotten rather dry around the second week of December, so right after posting about Naturie Coixseed Skin Conditioner, I went back to my local drugstore to get this Skilabo Aloe Extract Lotion (toner). I figured it's so cheap, 400yen for a whopping 500mL, and I should just go ahead and try it. If it's still too drying for the winter, I'll just save it for the summer ^.^

Naturie Coixseed Skin Conditioner

Been using this Naturie Hatomugi Coixseed Skin Conditioner after I ran out of the Rosette Soys Lotion a couple of months ago. I've never heard of the Naturie brand, but I have seen the miscellaneous Imju cosmetic and skincare items scattered here and there.

Coixseed, also known as Job's Tears, is an edible a nutritious grain that counts natural jewelry beads among its various uses! How cool is that? I like this stuff and have eaten it aplenty in Cantonese tong sui (chè), sâm bổ lượng in particular. But to use a toner with its extract? Now that's new to me, and I'm all game! Not to mention this bottle of Naturie toner was dirt cheap, about 700yen for a whopping 500mL that will probably last me for freakin' ever! Of course I know being cheap means it's mostly alcohol and water, but then so is the more expensive stuff, no? :P

HJB Skilabo Cleansing Oil

New month, new oil cleanser! Well, actually I've been using this HJB Skilabo Cleansing Oil since late January :P

HJB is a generic brand as generic as they can come. Yes, that means everything from skincare to facial tissue to whatever else you can think of. I was getting bored of the usual drug store brands like Softymo, Naive, and even DHC, but at the same time I don't want to shell out big bucks for the department store brands. Why should I, when the drug store stuff works just as well, if not better? That was when I thought of trying the generic brands, just for kicks. I can always get Softymo, Naive, DHC, Biore, Dove, what have you, online so it doesn't really matter whether or not I'm in Japan. The generic Japanese brands, however, are only available in Japan.
