Yamashita Park, Yokohama, Kanagawa

Sorry, I'm still catching up on the events in February ^.^

After snacking around all afternoon in Chinatown, hubby and I headed over to Yamashita Park, which was only a short 10 minutes walk away. Good thing we did, because, damn, I can't believe it took us this many months to finally get to this place - it's a hell of a gorgeous park with an ocean front view! The sun was setting when we got there, but the dusk made the whole place seem even more magical.

Facing away from the park, looking left at the Marine Tower.

Facing away from the park, looking right to Minato Mirai at dusk. A kick ass view or what?

Now facing the ocean, looking to the right at the Hikawa Maru, now a permanently docked walk-in museum, marvelously lit at night.

These Marine Shuttles will give a long tour from the Yokohama Bay to Tokyo Bay for about 2-3,000yen per person. There are shorter tours on smaller boats for a mere 300yen!

A shot of a Marine Shuttle leaving the dock for a tour.

While one Marine Shuttle departed, another one was arriving.

Then from Yamashita Park, we took a long (20-30 minutes?) scenic walk on a raised ocean front path way from Yamashita Park all the way to Minato Mirai. I still get goosebumps thinking about that whole day. Wandering around Chinatown, Yamashita Park, the walk, the ocean view and the sea breeze, it was one of the most unexpectedly romantic day I'd spent with hubby in the whole decade we've been together (erh...yeah, we're sorta boring people...)! If you're in the area and wants to surprise a special someone with a special day, I'd really recommend it *wink*
