Chicca Mesmeric Wet Lip Oil

Here's a super belated post for Chicca Mesmeric Wet Lip Oil--it was buried deep in my draft folder. This brand has been long discontinued, and this product has been discontinued for even looooooonger, and long forgotten too because it was been in my bag for years until I did a clean-out recently and found it. I did use it quite often when I first got it, but then forgot about it months later. By the time I found it again, it had gone stale and was tossed.

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

This product was released was when "Lip Oil" had just starting to become trendy. I didn't really come around to these lip oils until this past year when I begrudgingly accepted the fact that "lip oil" was just another name for "lip gloss". Because seriously, what's the difference? I couldn't tell then and I still can't tell now.

This Chicca Wet Lip Oil was truly "wet," as in it was very thin, almost a watery oil and only somewhat moisturizing. When I did use, I used it mostly as a shimmery topper with a hint of pink. See why I forgot about it eventually? Because when I reached for a lip oil, I wanted moisture most of all, and some glossiness to perk me up a little, and then lastly, perhaps a hint of color to make me look awake (and alive haha). This lip oil did not provide any moisture at all, so I reached for it less and less until I totally forgot about it. It lay languished in my bag for years until it went stale. Maybe this is why Chicca was discontinued. They made products that appeared nice but were impractical, counterintuitive even.

- 07 Rococo Mink: translucent cool pink with hints of violet and loads of shimmers. You can still didn't give a damn about this lip oil when I tossed it without swatching.
