Paul & Joe Foundation Primer Part IV

Another thing I was excited to try from this Paul & Joe Makeup Collection 2021 was the two 10mL/0.33fl. oz. trial bottles of Sparkling Foundation Primer 001 on Day 2 and Foundation Primer Limited 002 on Day 16

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

As you may know, P&J has a cult following for their various Foundation Primers. I'm a big fan of the Pearl variety, and even then I only use them during the winter. IMHO is that the regular kinds are way too thick, way too moisturizing, and they provide way too much coverage for daily use, at least for me. Whereas the Pearls will provide just enough moisture to keep my dry-combo skin happy under the usual cocktail of waterproof sunscreen, and their micro-shimmers are just sheer enough to brighten my complexion without turning me into a disco ball.

Which is why whenever P&J releases a limited edition of a primer, I'll try it, and I was thrilled to learn this Makeup Collection 2021 had not 1 but 2 of them--

--But as soon as I saw the Sparkling Foundation Primer 001, I was sorely disappointed. It's a repeat of the LE version released for the 2017 Holidays :( Since I already have a full size version of this primer and already reviewed it, I passed on this trial bottle to my friend M.

Which is to say the remainder of my hopes went into this Primer Limited 002 instead ^.^" I knew it was tinted and shimmery, but I thought (hoped) it would be sheerer than the regular lineups that could be worn like a foundation on their own. And sure enough, it was much, much sheerer than the regular lineups--if the regular lineups were full coverage, this Primer Limited 002 would be Light-Medium coverage. Unfortunately, Light-Medium coverage is still not sheer, so I still can't wear it on a daily basis like I do the Pearls. I'll try mixing a drop with my sunscreen sometimes. Will update this post after a good experiment. In the meantime, I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll release another Pearl limited edition.
