Finished up the Herbal Essence Touchable Moisture Shampoo that I poured into the emptied Dove Botanical Selection Damage Protection Shampoo bottle and promptly moved on to this 450mL pump bottle of Tsubaki Smooth Shampoo. 

The Capital Grille, Denver

The Capital Grille in Denver is another "special-occasions" spot hubby and I sometimes visit. It's a chain, yes, a high-end steak house like Ruth Chris, and in case you're wondering, there isn't a Ruth Chris in Colorado :P

L'Occitane Shea Baby Karite Bebe Bonding Time Massage Balm

In early April, I was using up my backup bottle of Kuramoto Bijin Komeyu Beauty Oil. By this time, I'd already finished both the large 118.3mL/4oz. as well as the smaller 30mL/1oz. jars of Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream and still got some stretch marks--my Dr. said my tiny guy must have had a big growth spurt and my skin couldn't keep up, apparently something common with second pregnancies.

So I was in the market for another belly balm of some kind, just to keep my ever-expanding belly moisturized, stretch marks and all. When I spotted this new Shea Baby collection from L'Occitane, I was keen to try the 125mL/2.3oz. round tin of Karite Bebe Bonding Time Massage Balm. I figured with 70% shea butter, I could try it for my belly and if I really like it, I'd buy more for my baby.

Oak at Fourteen is relatively new to our local food scene--they opened in 2010. Even then, hubby and I didn't start frequenting the place until 2016, after we'd moved home from Tokyo. But boy, once we started going, we couldn't help but kept going--the food was fantastic! Like Brasserie Ten Ten, we've never had a bad meal here. Sure, we liked some dishes more so than others, but overall it was always a great meal that left us wanting more. So we kept coming back.

Sample menu, which changed every 1-2 months, I think. They did special course meals for special occasions like Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. too. In fact, they have a 4-course menu for this coming Mother's Day ^.^ Whee!!! Yep, they're still open for curbside takeouts, although with a limited menu.

Hubby was partial to their whisky menu (he's a bit of a whisky nut), and I really liked that their non-alcoholic options were actually tasty!

Yum Yum Spice Asian Cuisine, Denver

When hubby and I moved home the fall of 2016, among the things that made me really sad was the lack of good Chinese food. Say what you will but after Tokyo and a whirlwind tour of Taipei where J., hubby, and I stuffed as much yummy food as our tummies could handle, coming home to this "House Special Chowfun" below was down right depressing, to say the least. 

I'm not going to name this offending restaurant but suffice to say I never went back :( Boo. Hiss.

On one particular sad Friday night, I was desperate for something, anything, reminiscent of the yummy food we'd enjoyed in Taipei. J. also happened to be visiting from SF that weekend and so I took to the internet and came upon this Yum Yum Spice Asian Cuisine in Denver.

You may have noticed these chicken wings showing up a few times too many. That's because it's another dish, an appetizer, that we order every time. Well, more like I order it every time :P These are ordinary fried wings dressed in a ghost pepper sauce spiced with Indian herbs and seasonings, which makes them not-so-ordinary. These are not for the faint-of-hearts. They've got a real kick to them, and think more so Yip Man and less so wire-fu. The samosas are great too, and hubby loves the chutney.



And of course, the Crabmeat Masala (left) and the Kerala Seafood Curry (right). The one thing that surprises me about the food at Azitra is that they make really delicious seafood curries. I've never had seafood curries this tasty, and they're way more interesting and flavorful than the usual chicken. As for desserts, to be honest hubby and I have only ordered a few, because we'd be stuffed every time we go that there just isn't any room left for sweets ^.^"

We haven't known Azitra for very long even though they've been around since 2011. We'd been living in Boulder and only learned about the place after moving out of Boulder into our current permanent home. I think we went to Azitra for the first time in the early fall of 2018, and we haven't been able to keep away since. This place serves some of the best Indian food we've had, ever, second only to Annam in Ginza, and thankfully without the same blowhard a$$ of an owner.
