Ko-Cho Chinese Restaurant

Ko-cho is by far the best Chinese restaurant hubby and I've been to in Yokohama Chinatown! We had a delicious tabehodai (all you can eat) dinner for 2,200yen/person, ordering from 2 different menus (an entree menu and a dimsum menu) without any limitation as to how many dishes we can order at once or time limit (some restaurant gives you only 2 hours). On their website, they combined the 2 menus together plus several other a la carte items not on the tabehodai menus, but you can still get an idea of the variety of food we had.

Because this was tabehodai, each dish was served with only a small amount, a few bites' worth, so we were able to sample all the below dishes (the bigger number at top left indicates ranking among the top 10 dishes) from both entree and dimsum menus. They are not listed in any particular order though.

#146. Beijing Duck, though only with skin, and we've had the same at a few restaurants now so I guess it's standard here that you only get skin?!?

#140. Fried crab claw, just like the fried shrimp balls served at dim sum restaurants in the states, only with crab meat and not shrimps. This one was so good we ordered it 2 (or was it 3?) times!

#22. Ebi chili (shrimps in chili sauce), which was yummy, and the shrimps large and not itty bitty.

#3. Tea Duck, which was served cold. I didn't care too much for this one actually.

#67. Almond chicken, yummy!

#42. Twice cook pork, delicious!

#47. Beef and garlic sprouts, this dish was so yummy we ordered it twice!

#45. Duck stir fried with bean sprouts, we ordered this twice also!

#109. Turnip cakes from the dimsum menu. I didn't care for this dish either.

#78. Sliced pork stir fried with bell peppers. This one was okay.

#43. Sweet and sour pork. This dish was a bit tart, but it wasn't too bad.

#62. Bokchoi and mushrooms, this was probably the only vegetable dish we ordered LOL!

#102. Fried spring rolls, I didn't care for this either.

#105. Soup dumplings from the dimsum menu. We ordered this 4 times and hubby loved it! It was fantastic!

#117. Shrimp dumplings from the dimsum menu, which we ordered 3 times also ^.^ It was delicious!

Now the desserts :P

#134. Tapioca coconut pudding. This wasn't very good, actually. The tapioca wasn't well cook and was still hard at the center.

#119. Sesame balls, my favorite dimsum dessert! Loved it! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside! Yum...

#121. Mango pudding, soooooo good!

#122. Almond jelly, which was surprisingly delicious! Most almond jelly tend to be on the hard side, but this one was jiggly and melted in my mouth. And it was very fragrant and creamy, I could taste both the almond and the milk in it!

Hubby and his colleagues, K. and E.

We were there to celebrate hubby's bday, but let's just say we'll definitely be back at least a few more times ^.^
