This review for A+D Diaper Rash Ointment & Skin Protectant is also about three years late, because hubby and I have been using this on our little guy's bums pretty much since he was one month old ^.^ There are various sizes available, but we only buy two: a giant 454g/1lb. jar that's stationary on his bathroom changing counter and a 113g/4oz. tube that never leaves the diaper bag.
Actually, we were pretty clueless first-time parents. We didn't started using this stuff until my mum pointed out to me one day that our 1-month old's bums were looking pretty red and irritated. Then the panic set in and I texted my SIL who was the pioneer parent with her little gal born a year before our little guy. SIL kindly informed me that this A+D stuff is pretty standard and you apply it with every diaper change for rash-prevention. So yeah, we use this faithfully and level-up to Triple Paste at the first signs of redness.
There were times when we actually had to layer A+D under Triple Paste, because depends on how bad the rash is (it was terrible when he caught his first stomach bug), Triple Paste can and did sting our little guy. Layering A+D acts a buffer to prevent the stinging but still allows the Triple Paste to work its magic. Good stuff.
