Cle de Peau Beaute Lipstick

Here's the last of my goodies from the Cle de Peau Beaute Holiday 2020 Enchanted Lake Collection, this Lipstick 515 Impassioned that was released along with Lip Glorifier 513 Break of Dawn and Lipstick Cashmere 514 Enamoured, all were LE's.

Gucci Baume a Levres Lip Balm

After my underwhelming experience with YSL Volupte Plump-in-Colour Plumping Lip Balm,  I vowed to not go near non-Japanese "luxury" brands again. I felt the quality of the product doesn't always commensurate with the retail price, so if I was going indulge, I'd rather go for Japanese high-end instead, which has rarely disappoint in my experience. Of course I'm biased :P

Then came the 2021 holiday season and Selfridges ran their year-end sale, wherein I spotted something peculiar: these Gucci Baume a Levres Lip Balm. Yep, vow broken. I have zero discipline, or honor :P I figured there was no harm in trying some lip balms, right? There were five colors available and I picked three: 2 No More Orchids, 3 Rene Pink, and 4 Penelope Plum.

Cle de Peau Beaute Lipstick Cashmere

Onward with the saga of 103 Legend--my love for this color led me to pick up another Cle de Peau Beaute item, the LE (and yes, long discontinued) Lipstick Cashmere, which completes my lovely trio along with Radian Lip Gloss and Refined Lip Luminizer. There were three other products in this LE collection that I skipped, a Lipstick Sparkle, a Radiant Liquid Rouge Sparkles, and a Lip Liner Pencil. 

 

And thanks to Caty's generosity, I received a LE Lip Glorifier 513 Break of Dawn from the Holiday 2020 Enchanted Lake Collection, and I was so head over heels for the gorgeous packaging that I picked up the pair of lipsticks from that collection as well: another Lipstick Cashmere in 514 Enamoured, and a Lipstick in 515 Impassioned (will post next).

Cle de Peau Beaute Refined Lip Luminizer

After trying Cle de Peau Beaute Radiant Lip Gloss that Caty generously sent to me in 2021 in a luxurious care package (thank you yet again, Caty!), I loved the color 103 Legend so much that I sought out the other LE items released with this shade: this Refined Lip Luminizer and a Lipstick Cashmere (will post next). And yes, since this post is years behind, these Lip Luminizers have been long discontinued :(

Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifier

Back in 2021, Caty generously sent me a luxurious care package (thank you so much, Caty!) that included some skincare items (Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Rx and Paul & Joe Treatment Balm L 005 Stollen) and two Cle de Peau Beaute Lip Glorifiers, the 02 Red from permanent lineup and the LE 513 Break of Dawn from the Holiday 2020 Enchanted Lake Collection, and finally, a Radiant Lip Gloss in 103 Legend. And while I posted about the skincare items in 2022, it took me until now to post about the lippies.

Cle de Peau Beaute Radiant Lip Gloss

Back in summer 2021, Caty sent me a super generous care package with a few Cle de Peau Beaute items: two Lip Glorifiers and a Radiant Lip Gloss in 103 Legend (pictured below, thank you, Caty!). I ended up loving this color so much I bought the Lip Luminizer and Lipstick Cashmere versions of it too! That said, because this post is 3-4 years late, all of these products have since been discontinued, reformulated, renamed, repackaged, or some combination of the latter three. The color lineup seems to have changed as well, and this same red is now called 103 Legend of Rouge.

Mama Hug Sunscreen Gel SPF25 PA+++

Here is the 100g pump bottle of Mama Hug Sunscreen Gel SPF25 PA+++ that I took out last fall for my kiddos, and they're almost through with it. If it were summer right now, this bottle would have been long gone, but alas, fall, winter, and spring mean occasional use only.

Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel

So here's something crazy: just recently, while going through and cleaning out my skincare cabinet, I came upon this 60mL/2fl. oz. deluxe travel size bottle of Obagi Nu-Derm Foaming Gel that was part of a Dermstore Mystery Black Bag from the winter of 2012! So what did I do with a 13-year old face wash? I used it, of course! Don't try this at home, kids :P

How did this face wash fare? Pretty good, actually! It didn't foam much, and it was surprisingly mild. Didn't strip my skin, didn't irritate it either despite being way, way, way bast expiration. In fact, I enjoyed it enough to look up the Obagi brand and bought a few serums and creams to try. Not bad for an ancient face wash, huh?

Estee Lauder Act IV Lip Duet Tint + Balm

Every once in a while, Estee Lauder does an interesting limited edition release, like this Act IV Makeup Collection that was released in 2020 (yes, I'm only now posting about a product I've been using for five years!). Among all the things that were part of the collection, only this Lip Duet Tint + Balm caught my eyes, because it's a pair of clear and tinted balms in a dual-ended tube.
