Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pen

Since last year I've been on a liner pencil kick that doesn't seem to slow down anytime soon. Since seeing swatches of the Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pen from Kate's Driveling, I couldn't help but wonder if they would stand a chance against my all-melty powerful Japanese sunscreens. It so happened that around last March, Dermstore ran a really nice promotion wherein any $35+ order for Pixi Beauty receives a Pretty Eye Perfection Kit as GWP. Well, gee, that wasn't hard.

I ended up with 3 Endless Silky Eye Pens in 2-Black Blue, 3-Black Tulip, and 5-Deep Plum. The Pretty Eye Perfection Kit includes a 12-color eye shadow palette, a mini Endless Silky Eye Pen 1-Black Noir, and a deluxe sample of Eye Bright Primer 1.9g/0.06oz., which I also like very much and will review later. All pictures taken in natural light with flash.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner Part II

Since my first post on Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner last fall, I've had plenty of opportunities to wear them out and about and I did! And my opinion of them has taken a 180-degree turn to an OMG-must-hoard verdict ^.^

Below are 4 colors I'm reviewing in this post: Purple Tang, Stingray, Koi, and Silver Dollar. As with the previous 5 colors, these apply soft and smooth, particularly Koi and Silver Dollar which are buttery like their sibling Kajal Eye Liners. All pictures are taken in natural light without flash.

- Purple Tang: a deep bluish purple, versus the violet that makes Tetra more of an eggplant purple, and a deeper version of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Shadow Pencil Delinquent, only with gorgeous sparkling purple shimmers. It's also these purple shimmers that differentiate Purple Tang from Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pen 3-Black Tulip (will review soon), otherwise both are identically breathtaking deep purples. See the comparison swatches for yourself!

Coffret D'Or Full Memory Rouge

This Coffret D'Or Full Memory Rouge was another cart filler. I guess I was in a total random mood that day and lost control over impulse buying, not that I had any to begin with...

This is an older line of lipsticks that Coffret D'Or don't make anymore and they've been discontinued a couple of years ago. As with many Japanese lipsticks, there were two formulas available, Color and Glow, with Color being more pigmented and opaque for more coverage and Glow being sheerer with a glossy finish.

Thankfully, there was only 1 color available, RD-168 Color(as in the Color range versus Glow), so there was no agonizing over which color(s) to get, or worse, get them all because I can't decide for the life of me (like Lavshuca Dramatic Memory Rouge and Moist Melting Rouge, although thankfully no regrets whatsoever over both). Phew. Dodged that bullet.

Maybelline ColorSensational Color Whisper

After Revlon Lip Butter's smashing success and L'oreal Colour Riche Balm SPF15's hohum-ness, Maybelline tried to one-up the rest with these ColorSensational Color Whispers. And I say one-up and not compete because my humble opinion is that all 3 products are so vastly different, with Revlon being marketed as a tinted balm, L'oreal tried to market the same but the Colour Riche Balms turned out to be more balmy than tinted (lol!), and these Maybelline Color Whispers are actually gel lip colors and neither marketed as balmy or tinted. In fact, gel lip colors are a huge trend lately, either in solid form in a stick or liquid/gel form in a tube!

With the Color Whispers being gel lipsticks, and I have way more than enough of lipsticks, I only picked up 4 colors to satisfy my curiosity with the advertised lightweight translucent color veil.

I bought 30 Pin Up Peach, 40 Orange Attitude, 45 Who Wore it Red-er, and 95 Mad for Magenta. All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic

Update Friday, April 4, 2014.

On my second bottle of this Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic (finally) and to my surprise, I like it a lot better than the previous one!

The second bottle must be of a new formulation, because unlike the herbal scent of the last this one has a very prominent note of lavender, although it does retain the slight sweetness, almost coconut-y, and not spicy or overwhelming like lavender can get. It feels a lot more hydrating too, and not just slightly better than water, so I am using it as a toner now and not just as a daytime refresher spritz!

------------------------------------------------------
Original post Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

From Boscia's generous The Surprise Beauty Box event back in January, I ended up with two 150mL/5fl oz. bottles Boscia Balancing Facial Tonic. I gave one bottle to mum in law and have been using the second bottle for the past few months.

This is a multi-purpose product that can be used as a toning mist after cleansing, or throughout the day as a freshener/booster whenever the need arises. After the two travel size 30mL bottles of Astalift Lotion, I wanted mix things up a bit since I still have the two 20mL bottles from the 2013 Astalift trial sets. So I moved on with this Boscia Facial Tonic first as a toner, before "demoting" it to occasional day use whenever my skin feels dehydrated and/or dry.

Visee Liquid Liner

A long overdue review for Visee Liquid Liner BK001. This is a full size eye liner pen with a tapered brush tip that's reminiscent of a calligraphy pen only it's much firmer and doesn't have much give. This was from the Visee Eye Color and Liquid Eye Liner Set I bought at Don Quixote along with Visee Glam Glow Eyes BR-3, Fasio Oil Cleansing EX 30mL, Fasio Mascara Easy Remover 2.5mL, and Selecty Glitter Aburatorigami Oil Blotting Paper mini 70-sheet booklet.

Integrate Sakura Drop Essence

If Majolica Majorca Cream de Cheek were impulse buys, these Integrate Sakura Drop Essence were worse - they were shopping basket fillers, especially when I have plenty of lip balms and treatments already. Two colors are available, Sakura (non-SPF) and Sakuranbo SPF18 PA++. I have both colors and you know what, I'm really glad I picked these up and I will probably repurchase when I run out!

Sakura (white tube) and Sakuranbo (red tube). All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer

This mini 5.5g/0.19oz. tube of Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer was part of a palette my friend A. bought. Since she already has the full size of this primer, she passed this mini one on to me ^.^ I happen to be on an eye primer kick lately, trying out several other brands so I was more than happy for this little tube. Thanks A.!

Fresh Sugar Mini Tinted Lip Treatment Part II

Every holiday season Sephora runs tempting promotions and of course I fall for it every time -.-' 2013 was no different, and there were these interesting sets of deluxe sample bags with items I've been wanting to try. So I ended up with 2 small separate orders because two of these fours bags appealed to me ^.^ This 2.2g/0.07oz. tube of Fresh Sugar Mini Tinted Lip Treatment Petal is a part of the Holly Jolly bag.
