Paul & Joe 20th Anniversary Lipsticks, Lipstick Bear, Lipstick Limited, Pearl Lipstick, and Treatment Lipstick Part XIII

Originally, I had the below Paul & Joe lippies in a mega post, but it got too long and Blogger had trouble saving the post, so I ended up breaking it in half.

In this post are P&J's 20th Anniversary Lipsticks, Lipstick Bear, Lipstick Limited, Pearl Lipstick, Treatment Lipstick, and of course, more Lipstick Case CS's.

We're just picking up where the last post left off: 2021 Summer when P&J released a collection with two Lipstick Bears, 001 Blue Bear Calinour and 002 Red Bear Pupuce, which I bought. The 001 Blue Bear Calinour was similar to the Tinted Lipstick 001 Globe Trotting in that it was a color-changing and staining lipstick. I skipped it at first but later picked it up when I saw it on sale.

Paul & Joe Makeup Collection 2021

Here's to add to the many posts for Paul & Joe Makeup Collection 2021, this one for the many non-makeup knick knacks that were included. I'm only 4 years late to post this, but better later than never =.= I bought the 2022 version too, which I haven't even gotten around to photographing. Ha.

Paul & Joe Powder Blush

For more than a decade, I'd stayed away from powder blushes and used exclusively liquid, gel, or cream blushes. And then sometimes last year, I started to notice more and more freckles and sun spots on my face. At first I didn't understand why, because my sunscreen habits have not changed. If anything, I reapply more often now thanks to those super convenient sun sticks. Sure, I'm getting older and aging skin is more prone to freckles and sun spots, but if that were the case, why did those spots appear only on the apple of my cheeks, where I usually apply blushes?

So I experimented a bit: for a period of 6 months, I stopped using any liquid, gel, or cream blushes and switched back to powder blushes. Sure enough, no new freckles and sun spots. So it seems the liquid, gel, and cream blushes were corrupting my waterproof sunscreen wherever I apply them. Boo. Hiss. Anyhoo, I'm so glad I didn't get rid of all of my powder blushes. In fact, I'd gone back and picked up those pretty Suqqu powder cheeks I'd been eyeing for years now but thought I'd never use them.

Of course, Paul & Joe Powder Blush enjoyed a revival with me as well (and I get to play with the pretty Face Colors again!). Here's a lovely one from the Makeup Collection 2021 on Day 5, Powder Blush 012, and the Compact L02 that comes with it, on Day 4.

Koyudo Brushes Part XII

After declaring I'd skip the rest of the Koyudo Somell Garden Collection, I ended up going back for the Somell Garden Kinomi Series instead. While I wasn't too keen on the "fruity" dyed goat hair in the original Somell Garden brushes, I really liked the dark walnut handles in the Kinomi Series. After all, this walnut handle was the reason I picked up Somell Garden Lemon x Walnut Face Brush. In addition, I got a retractable lip brush from the M Portable Series, because it was about time I own one or two ^.^

In this batch, from left to right: Somell Garden Kinomi Series Almond Powder, Macadamia Eyeshadow, and Pistachio Lip Liner/Concealer (I skipped the Hazel Foundation because it's polyester), and M Portable Series M015 Silver.

Paul & Joe Lipsticks and Lipstick CS Part XI

In general, I'd say Paul & Joe releases can be eye-catching, or at least they try to be, with lots of cute cat motifs. However, save for their lippies, I haven't been tempted with much else, especially since I've learned that their eye shadows can be wildly hit-n-miss.

In 2019 though, the brand broke down my resistance quite a bit. Hopefully, I'll get around to post some of those goodies soon. For now, enjoy photos and swatches of Lipstick CS in LE 111 Amaryllis and 112 Gerbera Daisy, and Paul & Joe x Doraemon Lipstick D in LE 002 Happy Red, all three from the spring, and Lipstick Limited 007 Disco Inferno from the summer. There are also Lipstick Case CS in 050 and 051, and Lipstick Case Limited 004, and only three because the Doraemon Lipstick D came in its own case.

Paul & Joe Lipstick CS Part X

More of Paul & Joe Lipstick CS from last year's releases, 105 Saint Germain from spring 2018 that was out of stock when I ordered 106 Rue Cremieux and 107 Rue Montorgueil, and 108 Le Poete from fall 2018 that I actually went back to get because I liked 109 Artiste so much. I also picked up three Lipstick Case CS, LE 001 because I realized LE 002 was made of fabric and not paper--and gorgeous!--, and 043 and 047 to make up for the missing case from the previous order.

Snack Time

Since last fall, dear friends in Japan have been sending me care packages with snacks and other goodies. The first giant package I got in November was from sweet Julia who sent me a whole lot of everything I love: adorable printed masking tapes from Daiso, sweets, snacks, tea, hand cream, and lippies! How am I so lucky, I've no idea, but let's just say the sweets and snacks and the tea didn't last past the month. Good thing I took notes as I ate (and drank) them ^.^

Paul & Joe Lipstick CS Part IX

These Paul & Joe Lipstick CS are last year's releases, with 106 Rue Cremieux and 107 Rue Montorgueil from the Spring 2018 collection, and 109 Artiste from the Fall 2018 collection. And silly me, I bought three lipsticks refills but only two Lipstick Case CS 044 and the LE 002. Woops ^.^"
