Jayjun Eye Gel Patch

These Jayjun Eye Gel Patches were random, impulse buys that became popular with hubby ^.^ There are several different varieties but here I'm reviewing Green Tea and Lavender Tea. Each jar contains 60 patches of 1.4g each, so basically 30 applications per jar. For $15, that's not bad.

This 3mL/0.1fl. oz. tube of Phytomer Contour Radieux Smoothing and Reviving Eye Mask was among the myriad of samples I received from an order via Le Spa USA (not affiliated), and it actually lasted me a good 2 months of nightly use!

SK-II Signs Eye Mask

Been using these SK-II Signs Eye Masks off and on for the past few months, may be once a month on a night when I'm too lazy for the other several peel off or wash off masks I'm using ^.^ I got 7 pairs from the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Rochas Bottle x Mask Coffret back in June, though I didn't get around to review this coffret till August.

SkinFood Carrot Collagen Eye Sheet

Back in the beginning of this month, I received a fabulous surprise from my friend Cacaopack, and it includes a SkinFood Carrot Collagen Eye Sheet. I promptly used it the very next week and wrote up the review below but didn't get around to actually posting it until now. And yes, I had only 1 pair so I must warn you that the "review" below is more like an initial reaction :)



The first impression was that this eye sheet was very similar to, but ultimately lighter than, the Hadabisei Under Eye Gel Masks. The eye sheet was packaged in a plastic tray sealed with aluminum foil, and this tray was then sealed in the outer packaging as seen in the picture above. Overall it gave a very clean feeling, since the final product was packaged twice, but really I thought that was a bit much.

Upon opening the foil seal to the plastic tray, I immediately understood why the final product was so carefully packaged - the eye sheet itself was actually quite thin and there was minimal serum inside the tray, so the eye sheet ran the risk of drying out if not packaged tightly. Applying the eye sheet to my eyes was a breeze. They were no where as sticky as the Hadabisei ones, so I could easily adjust them until I got them where I wanted them to be. Unlike the Hadabisei, there wasn't any extra essence dripping down my cheek either, which can be interpreted both positively and negative depending on your skin. Since my skin is extra dry, so I would have appreciated a bit more essence.

In the end, these SkinFood eye sheet dried up rather quickly, in about 15 minutes. Mind you, it was also very extremely dry inside my apartment at the time (about 20% humidity content), and I will have to get more of these to try during the summer to see if it would any longer. Regardless, my eye area was decently moisturized, a bit more would have been nice, but overall it wasn't bad.

I was having another busy day at work minding my own business and my colleague stopped by my desk with a white package, "This is yours." She said, putting it on my desk.

I was mystified, since I did not expect anything to come in the mail today. At the upper right hand corner of the package, it says, "Mask," so I thought it was the stage masks I had ordered for a client. Then I flipped the package and read the from-address and saw Singapore - heeeeeyyy, I know that name!

So I tore into it, of course, although nicely, with a pair of scissors. Inside was another envelope with pink hearts in silver circle. "Merry Christmas" and smiley face was hand-written on it in black marker. I gasped, speechless.

My girlie friend Cacaopack over at Beauty Unfolds took me by complete surprise - look at what she sent me! How sweet and lovely is she?



Nooooo wayyyyyy, for me?!?

Inside the envelop was these wonderful items she knew I'd totally appreciate:
- 3 Etude House Moistful Sheet Masks (try these chilled on a summer day!)
- A Watsons Bird's Nest Essence Facial Mask (better hide this quick cause my mum will probably fight me for it!)
- A SkinFood Carrot Collagen Eye Sheet (will try these and review ASAP!)
- A pretty purple gift box with ribbons and bows, inside of which is necklace with my initial, filled with a pearly drop!

Silk Whitia Collagen Moisturizing & Nourishing Eye Mask

I've never ever heard of the brand Silk Whitia before, but I was browsing Sasa.com several weeks ago, and a bunch of their masks were on sale, buy 1 get 1 free, so I thought, heck, why not? I'm always open to trying new stuff, and these masks had decent reviews on Sasa, so I bought one of them to try - the Silk Whitia Collagen Moisturizing & Nourishing Eye Mask.



The packaging is the same size as a face mask's, so I was curious to what this eye mask would look like coming out of the pack. Well, let's just say it's a mask for entire eye area, not just the under eye area - think the mask of Zorro. Yeah, it was probably the biggest eye mask I'd ever seen :D

That's not to say I didn't like it. It had a nice scent, not too perfumy. It stayed on pretty well and easy to apply, no slippin' slidin' here. However, I should mention that it should be removed before it completely dries, after 20 minutes or so. If you let it dry completely, it will dry to a hard, glue-like plaster and will stick tight to your skin, sort of like the Biore nose strip. And while there's nothing wrong with the Biore nose strip, just remember that this Zorro mask goes over your entire eye area, eye brows and all, so unless you want to let this mask reshape your arches, I don't recommend letting it dry completely and remove it while it's still damp.

Over all, the mask was okay, nothing too impressive. My eye area was comfortable enough afterwards, although since it was so dry in my apartment I applied some eye cream anyways. May be this is a mask meant for use during the humid summer and not so much the dry winter if you have dry combination skin like me. Also, I'm guessing Silk Whitia going to be similar to Skin Lite and their masks are hit and miss. There are a dozen or so different Silk Whitia masks so you'll have to try them all out until you find the one you like. I think I'm going to get a few whitening ones for my mum if they're still buy 1 get 1 free :D

DHC Revitalizing Moisture Eye Strips

Tearing into the DHC Revitalizing Moisture Eye Strips, which are supposed to be gel strips, so I was expected something along the line of the Hadabisei Under Eye Gel Masks. Instead, I was totally thrown off by these sheet mask-like under eye strips that are completely dry! Peeling them off of their plastic sheet cover, their other side is indeed gel, but the gel side, too, felt dry and boy were they S-T-I-C-K-Y, much more so than the Hadabisei ones!



According to the instructions on the DHC North America website, you are supposed to leave these gel strips on for 20-30 minutes or even over night for a more intensive treatment. But as you'd guess, applying these was much more difficult than applying the Hadabisei strips, because they were that much stickier. They totally adhered to my skin like a sheet of gel adhesive!

After half an hour or so, the skin around my eye area felt really tight because, I guess, the gel strip was drying up. I started doubting whether going to bed with these on would be a good idea since they were already tugging on my fragile under eye skin, but I ended up leaving them on in bed anyway. I woke up at around 4 A.M. and proceeded to take them off, expecting them to pull on my skin. Surprisingly though, they didn't! The area underneath my eye felt nice and soft too! It was a strange experience, but I guess that's just how these eye strips work! I examined my under eye area later in the morning when I actually got out of bed, and they weren't puffy as they would get whenever I over-moisturize them. So yes, I would buy these again, although I think I like the Hadabisei strips better.

Hadabisei Under Eye Gel Masks

So I finally got to trying these nifty looking Hadabisei Under Eye Gel Masks! I held out for the longest time because they were a bit expensive for my taste, $16 for 4 pairs. But then recently I found them on Ebay for only around $8 (half price!) so I nabbed, like, 3 boxes :D

I was taken aback by their texture at first, but I guess when they say gel masks, they really mean gel masks! These felt like thin sheets of jello with tiny little holes! Because they are thin and so gel like, they adhere easily to the skin and to themselves, and I fumbled around quite a bit with them before I got them exactly where I want them to stay. Once they were on though, they stay put. No sliping or sliding around like the paper sheet masks! Also, I had refrigerated them before hand, so they went on cool and refreshing. I imagine these would be totally awesome on a hot and humid day, so here's my excuse to go back to the same Ebay vendor to buy more :D



Just like the Hadabisei Moisturizing Masks with Collagen, these Under Eye Gel Masks did not disappoint. Actually, they are rather impressive! I LOVE them! It was really neat to watch how these gel sheets work. While applying them, I was doubting whether such thin gel sheets would adequately moisturize my dry under eye areas. Little did I know that there were TONS of liquid packed in them! I guess that was why these sheets had tiny little holes. I squeezed the rest of the liquid essence left over from the packaging onto the sheets, and the drops just disappeared into them! A few minutes into the application, I felt the essence running down my cheeks because the gel sheets were just so saturated!

My under eye areas felt sooooooo nice and comfortable afterwards. After massaging in the left over essence into my skin and let it dry, there was no stickiness, no heaviness, and my skin just felt soft and supple and cool to the touch (probably the after effect of the gel sheets having been chilled). The next morning, my eyes were awake and fresh even though I was exhausted and could have dropped any moment. I'm so getting more of these!

Lifecella Essence Eye Contour Mask

Looking around for face masks and such, I got suckered into trying the eye masks too and made my first attempt with this Lifecella Essence Eye Contour Mask. Lifecella is a Hisamitsu brand. Never heard of 'em? Well, if you've ever used Salonpas before, you've used a Hisamitsu product before. I didn't know that either, until this purchase, of course.



The description from Sasa.com says its essence contains Ceramide and Trehalose, and I've no idea what they are except for the fact that they are supposed to help with wrinkles. The box comes with 5 pairs of the eye contour masks soaked in a generous amount of this essence - it was so wet it started dripping down my cheeks! The instructions say to apply for 5-15 minutes after face wash or shower. Made in Japan, by the way.



Anyway, it's okay. I didn't see any Earth-shattering effects but it was moisturizing and it made my eye area comfortable and supple afterward. I would still apply my usual eye cream, but I like it. Plus it was on sale with a promotion buy 4 get 1 free at Sasa.com. I can't not like that! :D

I might try out other Lifecella masks now after trying this as they all look every interesting! :)
