Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil

Woohoo I'm back to a "normal" cleansing oil that doesn't turn everything greasy--thank you, Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil (I'm about 3/4 way through the full size 200mL/6.7fl. oz. pump bottle)! This was from the Cleanse & Care Extra Skincare Set, from which I've already posted about the Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm Bare Glow (bare glow? more like disco-ball glow) and Extra Lip Tint Bare Pink (a definite hit--already repurchased Bare Pink and a few other colors).

Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint

This Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint in Bare Pink was part of the Cleanse & Care Extra Skincare Set (from which I already reviewed the Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm Bare Glow), and it lives permanently in my handbag. I've been reaching for it a lot so here's a short post.

Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm Bare Glow

Here's more to add to my on-going saga with sunscreen versus winter dry skin.

Since the fall, I started layering Paul & Joe Pearl Foundation Primer over my daytime moisturizer and under sunscreen, until the weather got too cold and too dry, and these primers were no longer enough. So I tried Paul & Joe La Tout Eclat Moisturizing Foundation Primer L next, and while it was moisturizing indeed, it was also completely opaque with full coverage, which was not at all what I wanted.

And recently I've been trying this 30mL/1fl. oz. pump bottle of Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm Bare Glow. This bottle was part of the Bobbi Brown Cleanse & Care Extra Skincare Set I bought over the past holidays.

Makeup Brushes

Update Monday, June 23, 2014.

Just a quick update to post pictures of the Aura Science Foundation Brush I finally got around to photographing. This brush is at least 10 years old, having been with me since college! Because back then, silly me didn't have a clue and went a bought a foundation brush even though I never use foundation LOL But now I do use some bb cream for concealing purposes (will review soon) around the nose, mouth, and under eye area, and this brush is great! I do believe it is synthetic, it feels synthetic and is very soft.

Original post Sunday, May 15, 2011.

Okay this post is going to be such a joke for a lot of people, but yes, I'm totally green to makeup brushes. I completely understand why some people spend a boat load of money on makeup brushes, but for years I've been a minimal brush person. Meaning I use makeup brushes minimally for things I can't apply with my (freshly washed and very clean) fingertips, like powder, blushes, and eye liner. Even then, I didn't really have a decent brush for powder and blush until recently, and as for lining my eyes, pretty much anything will work. Other than that, it was (and a lot of time, still is) all my hands, you know, for the greatest control :P

Makeup Brushes Part II (Picture Heavy!)

Since my last post on makeup brushes last May, I have added a new kabuki brush, The Body Shop Nature's Minerals Foundation Brush to my daily translucent powder application (instead of a foundation with coverage). With my brief home visit in late last September/early last October, I also remembered to bring back with me the Bobbi Brown Face Brush I posted about in that first makeup brush post. I have been using both since, switching off every few days.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Eye Palette

I bought this Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Eye Palette while in flight on route to the US of A from Tokyo several years back. I believe it was a 2006 Duty Free Exclusive then, before it was made available to retail as the Sandwash Palette. See what I mean with some things getting buried in my cabinet? Five years is a looooong time! *sniff* Good thing the eyeshadows is still works perfectly, probably because it was never even opened to begin with!

Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss

Just a really short review here. This travel size Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Crystal was a cute GWP I couldn't pass up. Plus I was curious to try a Bobbi Brown lip product since I've yet to have the pleasure.

I wasn't expecting much since it was just a clear gloss, but to my surprise, it was actually pretty good! The texture was thicker than Lancome Juicy Tubes, but it wasn't sticky and the lasting power was about the same. And it's unscented, so no risks to take here when it comes of yucky scents. This prompted me to check out lip glosses on Bobbi Brown Cosmetics' website. Wow, pretty colors, but I don't think I want to start down this road anytime soon :) There are still so many glosses I still haven't touched in my cabinet...
