Super Mild Body Soap

Almost done with this 500mL refill pouch of Super Mild Body Soap so here's a quick review.

I poured this into the emptied DHC Mild Body Shampoo pump bottle and has been using it since the summer. Don't know why I kept trying one Japanese body wash after another. They're all runny, super foamy, and dries out my skin like no other. This Super Mild one is no different. Even the generic soap scent is typical. Will not repurchase.

Super Mild Soap

I love the Super Mild Shampoo and Conditioner to death, so I used to buy this Bath Time Set in the past (I'm currently detouring to Tsubaki Shampoo and Conditioner, but will return to Super Mild very soon) that came with the shampoo, conditioner, and 6 bars of Super Mild Soaps. The thing is, back then I didn't care much for soaps in general, so I never paid these soaps any attention and kept giving them away as I was accumulating a thousand and one of them with each set I bought.



Since my interest in soaps grew significantly these past few months, I dug these soaps out from the linen closet and gave one of them a try. It was a decent soap, still a bit drying, but better than the L'Occitane Shea Extra Gentle Soap Lavender. It smelled great too, just like the shampoo and conditioner. Hubby likes it a lot, but then he likes almost every other soaps too, so I'm not sure if he's a reliable tester in the soap department. What counts though, is that his grandma (their main recipient) LOVES these soaps! She raves and raves about them, which partly led to my curiosity and eventually, usage.

My conclusion is that my skin is drier than an 85-yearold's! Hubby's grandma loves them, yet here they are frying my hands, WTF? Garr...another summer soap.

Super Mild Chikara Shampoo & Conditioner

Very early into the start of this blog, I posted a mini review to Super Mild Shampoo & Conditioner. After 2 years of faithful usage, I decided I should try this special edition called Super Mild Chikara Shampoo & Conditioner over this past summer. I like Super Mild, so I figured Super Mild Chikara shouldn't be too bad.

Well, let's just say it's not bad at all. It's actually better, making my hair even softer than the original Super Mild formula does. It probably has something to do with the soybean oil, which the original formula doesn't have. I love just how light and soft my hair feels afterwards, whether I towel dry or blow dry. This effect lasts even through the next day when my now long hair tends to get heavy, sometimes even oily.

The only thing I can see improvement in Super Mild Chikara is its scent, which, in my opinion, is a bit too...feminine. Not girly, but womanly, if not motherly. If I remember correctly, the ad for the shampoo and conditioner even says something to the effect of "...nurturing, like mother's milk." Where as the original Super Mild comes in a fruity (green) or floral (pink) scent, Super Mild Chikara comes in only 1 scent. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't smell bad, it smells quite good. There's nothing wrong with a feminine smelling shampoo either. Just that it was marketed to "families," so I was just surprised it wasn't more gender neutral. I guess it depends. I know both hubby and I don't mind the smell, but I could imagine others might.

Shiseido Brands

Some well known Shiseido brands are: The Makeup, The Skincare, SunCare, Benefiance, Pureness, Maquillage, Majolica Majorca, PN, Cle de Peau, Integrate, Tsubaki, and Super Mild. There are a bunch of others too I did not list, solely because I either haven't heard of them, know nothing of them, or just not interested :)

Maquillage
Highlighters, blushes, and eye shadows from this mid-end brand have unbelievably fine and silky texture. Many people like its lip products as well. The packaging is totally out of wack though. After T'estimo, this is the second brand I got into. Will post individual reviews later.

PN (Pied Nus)
Highlighters and blushes from this mid-end brand are excellent. Sadly, it has been discontinued in 2005, phased out slowly to be completely replaced by Maquillage above. Will post reviews later.

Majolica Majorca
Blushes and eye shadows from this brand are super affordable ($4-6) and the quality is absolutely amazing! If you want a good introduction to Japanese makeup without breaking your piggie bank, this is the brand to try. Will post reviews later.

Super Mild Hair Products
The first time I used Super Mild shampoo, I hated its Floral scent (the white/pink bottles). Still, after just one use I was convinced enough to venture out to the drugstore to find its Fruit scent (the white/green bottles)! Both hubby and I are devoted followers now, and we panic every time our bottle runs low. It lathers well, and keeps both our hair smooth, soft, and best of all, weightless! I have super straight hair that used to be a complete greasy mess the next day, but not with Super Mild! And I love that Fruit scent, it's so subtle and yet lingering, not perfumy at all!
