Boscia Cica Soothing Universal Cream

Among the last order I placed with Boscia before they closed up their North American chapter was this big 100mL/3.4fl. oz. tube of Cica Soothing Universal Cream. By this point, Cica (Centella asiatica) has become a super trendy ingredient. I'd seen it everywhere and everybody and their sisters and brothers have some kind of Cica product to offer. But I figured I'd start with Boscia since I've used their products for decades now and trust the brand more so than some "hip" beauty brand I've never heard of. Little did I know that some months later, Boscia would fold T.T

Boscia Sake Hydrating and Brightening Serum Part II

Along with Boscia Sake Treatment Water, I also revisited this Sake Hydrating and Brightening Serum. The first and most obvious difference I noticed was the product size--the previous one I bought and used in 2022 was 50mL in a glass dropper bottle. This one shrank by 40%, now a 30mL/1fl. oz. in a plastic pump bottle.

Boscia Sake Treatment Water Part III

They say third time's the charm but this is probably one of the last posts on Boscia, because the brand has folded :( Anyway, this was one of my last order with them, because I wanted to revisited their Sake line before it's gone forever. Here's the 50mL/1.69fl. oz. dropper bottle of Sake Treatment Water, changed from a pump bottle when I bought this last in 2022, with product content down even further from 53mL.

Boscia Super-Cool De-Puffing Eye Balm

This 4g/14oz. twist-up tube of Boscia Super-Cool De-Puffing Eye Balm was another Costco find: a Boscia Day & Night Eye Set

Now to preface this post, I've been informed that Boscia has now gone out of business. I don't know if they're returning to Japan domestic market or not, but they'll no longer be available in this country :( So yes, any Boscia posts from me going forward will be useless, but then again, this is my online product diary and isn't meant to keep up in any way with trends or seasonal releases.

FANCL Sunguard 50+ Protect UV SPF50+ PA++++

I was looking forward to using this 60mL bottle of FANCL Sunguard 50+ Protect UV SPF50+ PA++++, that was, until I actually used it.

Let me temper your expectation: this is probably one of the worst, if not the worst Japanese sunscreen I've ever tried in all of my 15+ years of religious daily application of Japanese sunscreens.

Boscia Sake Hydrating and Brightening Serum

Without the Boscia Sake Balm, I now pair their current formulation of Sake Treatment Water with this Sake Hydrating and Brightening Serum in a 50mL/1.7fl. oz. dropper bottle. Unfortunately, I believe this serum has been discontinued as well, as I don't see it on Boscia's website anymore. Again, too bad because I think it's a pretty nice serum in a generous size packaging, as most serums are around 30mL.

Boscia Sake Treatment Water Part II

When I last posted on this Boscia Sake Treatment Water in 2016 (was it really 6 years ago? O.O), it was a companion review for Boscia Sake Balm (long discontinued by now, which is too bad).

The packaging has changed a little bit, still with pump dispenser but going from the translucent gradient gray bottle to this totally opaque pale lavender bottle. There's slightly less product too, with 53mL/1.79fl. oz., versus 55mL/1.85fl oz. before.

Boscia Tsubaki Swirl

Been using this 60mL/2fl. oz. jar of Boscia Tsubaki Swirl for a month now and like it well enough. Too bad Boscia changed the packaging as this used to looks so pretty in its transparent packaging. Now you can only kinda-sorta see a mushy swirl. Oh well, I bought it for the cream after all and not the jar. Ha.

Boscia Tsubaki Oil-Infused Exfoliating Powder

Don't ask why I bought two of these 60g/2.11oz. bottles of Boscia Tsubaki Oil-Infused Exfoliating Powder, only to drag my feet when it comes to actually using them =.=

Boscia Charcoal MakeUp Melter Cleansing Oil-Balm

Here's something that I'm lemming a full size of: this Boscia Charcoal MakeUp Melter Cleansing Oil-Balm. I'm using a tiny 15g/0.5oz. and liking it quite a bit.

Boscia Sake Cleansing Water

Although this 150mL/5.07fl. oz. bottle of Boscia Sake Cleansing Water is a recent addition to my basket of cleansing waters, which also housed Laneige Vitamin Brightening Cleansing Water, Neogen Dermalogy Real Flower Cleansing Water, Caudalie Cleansing Water, Avene Micellar Lotion, and Sephora Micellar Cleansing Water (will post both soon) ^.^

Boscia Tsubaki Splash Mask

Long time no mask! It might have been a couple of years now since I last used a mask of any kind, not because I don't want to but because I have zero time. When my little one started school a few weeks ago, I had a few minutes to reorganize my stash and happened upon this 55mL/1.85fl. oz. pump bottle of Boscia Tsubaki Splash Mask, which has now been discontinued so please excuse another useless (and ranty--you've been warned) post ^.^"

Boscia Sake Balm Part II

Several months before my little one came along, I'd stopped using my jar of Boscia Sake Balm even though it gave me amazingly smooth and slick skin. I was afraid it might affect the tiny one in my tummy then--silly, I know, since I'd been using the stuff for 2-3 months into the pregnancy already. Ha. It wasn't like I slathered this stuff on all over but still, I stopped using and the rest of that jar dried out.

Now that baby hasn't been attached to me by a cord for 19+ months and hasn't nursed for more than half a year, I started on a new jar I picked up during a Boscia sale. I don't see this balm on their website anymore, by the way, which might mean it's been discontinued :(

Sorry, these pictures of the jar are recycled from the previous post. It looks exactly the same as the previous so I didn't bother photographing the new one ^.^"

FANCL Washing Powder Part II

Before leaving Tokyo, J. and I went to the FANCL store in Ginza one last time, and there I picked up a Mild Cleansing Oil and Mini Facial Washing Powder Set. The set includes a full size 120mL Mild Cleansing Oil and a 13g bottle of Facial Washing Powder, all for the price of the cleansing oil alone, so the washing powder was pretty much a freebie.
