Nivea Rich Care & Color Lip Cream SPF20 PA++ Part II

I love Nivea Rich Care & Color Lip Cream so much the Smokey Rose lives in my gym bag. And of course I went back for the other "colors": Bordeaux, French Pink, Glossy Beige, Raspberry Pink, and Sheer Red. There's also a Coral Red that's newer on the scene and I think have that one somewhere. I'm just very, extremely behind on everything so I might not get to it for a while.

Nivea Sun Creme Care UV Cream SPF50+ PA++++

I bought a 50g tube of this Nivea Sun Creme Care UV Cream SPF50+ PA++++ a couple of years ago and didn't get around to using it until now, but of course it's been discontinued in the meantime. Ha.

The reason I took so long to try this out? Because it's *not* sweat and water resistant. Usually, it's hubby who prefers the easy-on-easy-off variety: he has normal skin that isn't oily, he doesn't sweat much, and he can't be bothered to remove any sunscreen properly with a cleansing oil or balm, let alone using a follow up cleanser after that. Ever since I introduced him to Biore UV Watery Rich Essence in 2012 and the Gel version in 2015, he's been sticking with these two through their many repackaging and reformulation and wouldn't try anything else. As for me, I'm definitely bias towards the water and sweat resistant sunscreens because otherwise they'd melt right off of my oily t-zones and lids. So even though I'd get curious about and buy the easy-on-easy-off stuff, I end up dragging my feet in trying them.

Nivea Men UV Protector SPF50+ PA++++

Here's another great sunscreen find for me in these recent months: this 40mL Nivea Men UV Protector SPF50+ PA++++. Yes, Nivea Men. I know there are reasons companies differentiate men and women's skincare products, but for me there's no difference. Sure, I'm not going to use hubby's facial grooming stuff because I don't have excess facial hair to groom, and sure, he's not going to touch my color makeup because he's not into painting his face, but other than that it's all fair game to us both.

Nivea Sun Strong Fit Care UV Milky Gel SFP50+ PA++++

Okay, three 80g bottles of this lovely Nivea Sun Strong Fit Care UV Milky Gel SFP50+ PA++++ later and several more gifted away to friends and family, I think it's about time I post this review.

I first bought two bottles of this Milky Gel in the spring of 2019 to try along with a bunch of other different sunscreens. I also got a 16g sample bottle packed in with a refill pouch of Nivea Sun Super Water Gel 2018 version, as this Milky Gel was first released in 2018.

Nivea Rich Care & Color Lip Cream SPF20 PA++

Last spring, when I was restocking my sunscreen supply via Rakuten Global, these Nivea Rich Care & Color Lip Cream SPF20 PA++ were popping up everywhere I looked. Apparently the aggressive marketing worked. I sure gave in and picked up a Smokey Rose to try.

Nivea Smooth Daily Moisture Body Lotion

Half way through this 500mL/16.9fl. oz. bottle of Nivea Smooth Daily Moisture Body Lotion Shea Butter (now Shea Daily Moisture Body Lotion) so here's a quick review.

I didn't know what to expect with this body lotion but ended up liking it quite a bit! I really enjoy the lovely, soothing scent with a touch of sweetness, though they could definitely tone it down a bit. I think the texture is impressive, a thin lotion that's super smooth and goes on like silk. Too bad the moisture is also on the light side, which happens to be perfect for spring, summer, and fall, but I definitely need something thicker for the winter. Now I'm curious to try other half a dozen of different Nivea body moisturizer ^.^

Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel for Kids SPF28 PA++

Here's a belated review for the 120g bottle of Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel for Kids SPF28 PA++. I've been using this for my little one for the past year or so, ever since he turned one. Technically, this sunscreen can be use for babies as young as 6 months according to the packaging instructions. I didn't though. I kept my little one well-covered and waited for a year before I put any kind of sunscreen on him.

Note this is an older version in a pale yellow bottle that's been in production since 2012. Earlier this year, they reformulated and repackaged it in a blue bottle, but I honestly can't tell any difference between the old and the new, which is a great thing in my opinion.

Nivea Sun Protect Water Milk Mild SPF50+ PA+++

With the weather warming up really fast and the sun is back out in full blast, I went nuts restocking my sunscreen supply having only a few bottles left from 2016 when hubby and I lugged a boat load home from Tokyo. One of those old bottles from 2016 is this 30mL Nivea Sun Protect Water Milk Mild SPF50+ PA+++.

Since 2016, unfortunately both the Nivea Sun Protect Plus UV Waterproof UV Milk as well as the Creamy UV Essence have been discontinued (white packaging was from 2015, blue packaging was from 2016), leaving only this Milk Mild available and even then, it too has been repackaged, though I'm not sure if the formulation has changed. The newest players in the family are now Creme Care UV Cream, UV Milky Gel, Zero Feeling UV Lotion, and a reformulation and repackaging of the men's line UV Protector. I've picked up a couple bottles of each and hopefully won't take years to go through them all, so stay tuned for these.

Nivea Sun Protect Plus UV Waterproof UV Milk SPF50+ PA++++

Update Monday January 8, 2018.

I was going to post a separate review for this 40mL bottle of Nivea Sun Protect Plus Waterproof UV Milk SPF50+ PA++++ (2016 packaging), only to realize that there wasn't any changes in the 2015 version reviewed below and this 2016, save for the packaging. So I thought I'd post a quick update instead. It took me months just to get through about half of this bottle! I've been avoiding waterproof formulas in fear it would irritate my little one's facial skin. He likes to bonk his face with mine a lot ^.^"

From left to right: Creamy UV Essence (reformulated in 2016), this Waterproof UV Milk (repackaged in 2016), and a new Water Milk Mild which I haven't gotten to yet. Will review later.

At the time of this writing, the 2016 packaging of this Waterproof UV Milk is still available and, as far I as know, has no further changes in formula or packaging. Not yet at least, though changes might happen this year, who knows. They like to keep us guessing over there.

Update Saturday July 15, 2017.

I finished using candidate #2 Anessa Perfect Essence Sunscreen to mix with the current bottle of Nivea Sun Protect Plus UV Waterproof UV Milk. Moving on to candidate #5 Allie Extra UV Gel Mineral Moist N, the old version with SPF50+ PA+++ that was discontinued in 2015.

I started out with 5 loops of Allie (left) and 30 drops of Nivea (right). This yielded a gel-cream texture akin to Allie but was way too thick and took forever and a half to set on my skin. Even then, it left a sheen and although a subsequent dusting of sunscreen powder did help, it felt as if I was wearing a kabuki mask the whole time. Bad combination. Will not try again. Moving on to a different candidate. Will update later.

Original post Friday May 5, 2017.

Finished up my backup bottle of Allie Extra UV Protector Perfect Alpha S and moved on to something new, though technically something old because it's a 40mL bottle of Nivea Sun Protect Plus UV Waterproof UV Milk, a 2015 formulation that has since been discontinued. There was also a Creamy UV Essence in the 50g white tube, also a discontinued 2015 formulation which I'd already reviewed.

Nivea Cream Care Body Wash

I ended up with 6 of these 10mL packets of Nivea Cream Care Body Wash, 4 from the two bottles of Skin Milk Refreshing (Sappari) 200g and 2 from one bottle of Skin Milk Creamy 200g. That's a nice travel-sized 60mL's worth! Good thing I'd just finished a backup bottle of L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil, so I emptied all 6 packets into it ^.^

Nivea Sun Protect Plus UV Creamy UV Essence SPF50+ PA++++

Just finished this 50g tube of Nivea Sun Protect Plus UV Creamy UV Essence SPF50+ PA++++ so here's a review for it.

Note this is the 2015 formula in the white tube and bottle (top row) and has been discontinued, replaced by the 2016 formula in blue tube and bottle (bottom row). There's also a new Mild formula that's alcohol-free in the mint green bottle (bottom row), which I'll review when I get to it.

Nivea Skin Milk Part II

I tried the Nivea Skin Milk Refreshing back in December and decided it wasn't adequate for the winter, so I switched over to this Nivea Skin Milk Creamy instead, in the same 200g bottle.

Nivea Soft Skincare Cream

More creams abound, this time in the form of Nivea Soft Skincare Cream. This is a multi-purpose product suitable for face and body. It comes in a 50g tube, which I have, and a 98g jar, which is nice and big but I'd prefer not to dig into any skincare product with my hands.

I ended up giving this tube to hubby as he was complaining about dry hands. He only uses it for his hands, and I have been "borrowing" some every now and then for my hands too ^.^

I do like it. It has that generic Nivea scent, and it's a nice cream that's not thick but not thin either. I think it's decently moisturizing, although if you live in a super dry climate or if you're thinking of using it on your elbows, knees, and feet, you might need something thicker. For now it suffices. I will probably move on to something else unless hubby specifically requests this again.

Nivea Skin Milk

While in my hand cream panic, I also picked up a couple of bottles of body lotion, one of which is this 200g Nivea Skin Milk Refreshing (さやっぱり).

There are a bunch of other body milks, with a Skin Milk Moisturizing (しっとり) in a dark blue bottle and a Skin Milk Creamy in a pale blue bottle. I have the Skin Milk Creamy too and will review it later.
