The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes Part VI

Pressing on with this The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes series. In this batch are palettes 17, 18, and 20 Blue Moon.

All pictures taken in natural light without flash. Clickable photos = zoom, so click and see ^.^

- 17: a gorgeous blue palette, and I don't even wear blue ^.^ In fact, I bought it for just one shade, the Deep Down Blue at bottom left. Otherwise, the Silver Crest and Ocean Rock Grey are both repeats from a few past palettes. I did tell you that The Body Shop gets much worse with recycling their colors over and over, right?

Clockwise from top left:
- Silver Crest: metallic, medium intensity (dry) and high intensity (wet). A silvered white.
- Horizon Blue: semi metallic, medium intensity (dry) and high intensity (wet). A brushed metal duo-chrome medium indigo with a periwinkle sheen when seen from an angel. It gains translucency when used wet. Beautiful color!
- Ocean Rock Grey: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A smokey grey with a silvery metallic sheen.
- Deep Down Blue: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A metallic cobalt that makes an eye-popping liner. This is the color that sold this palette for me, even with the 2 recycled colors that was Silver Crest and Ocean Rock Grey. Gorgeous!

- 18: I already reviewed this palette in detail, and if it looks similar to you, that's because this palette is pretty much recycled from palette 16, with only one new color that's Green Shimmer at bottom right. If you didn't notice, there are a white and a smoky grey from palette 16 above too. Boo. Hiss.

Clockwise from top left:
- Pearly White: metallic pearl and high intensity (dry and wet). I think I'm going to stop describing the colors because, well, it's the same color recycled over and over from previous palettes. I mean, how many variations of white can they come up with?
- Precious Pink: metallic pearl, medium intensity (dry) and high intensity (wet). Same with this one.
- Silver Sparkle: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A gray smoke with a metallic silver sheen. A tad lighter than the Ocean Rock Grey above but not that different.
- Green Shimmer: metallic pearl and high intensity (dry and wet). A lovely metallic pearly sea foam green.

- 20 Blue Moon: I'm getting increasingly sick and tired of The Body Shop putting the same colors over and over in different Shimmer Cubes palettes, are you? Where have we seen that white, silver, and black before? Hmm... This is the last blue palette I bought from The Body Shop, and for good reason. Because there's just one new color, just like, well, most other palettes they have.

Clockwise from top left:
- Indigo Blue: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A navy base with a royal blue sheen. This color pretty much carries the entire palette as it's the only new color!
- Starlight Silver: metallic, medium intensity (dry) and high intensity (wet). A silvered white.
- Midnight Black: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A soft charcoal black with a metallic grey sheen.
- Snow White: metallic and high intensity (dry and wet). A soft white that gains some translucency when used wet.

Here's comparing the 2 blue palettes, #17 versus 20 Blue Moon.
