Coffret D'Or Skin Synchro Rouge

Last spring, Coffret D'Or released a new line of lipsticks called Skin Synchro Rouge. In addition to a lineup of colors, there were also two toppers, PT-01, a platinum color-changer that will cool the colors down, and a GD-01, a gold color-changer that will warm the colors up. I thought the toppers were total BS and skipped both, and went straight for the colors that caught my eyes: OR-119, RD-228, WN-76, and EX-01.

Welp, this purchase is unfortunately more miss than hit, at least for me :(  Right off the bat I dislike the packaging: big, bulky, and plastic-y. These don't have the same feel as the much-loved but long-discontinued Premium Stay Rouge.

The unscented formula is thick and moisturizing, but two of the colors have slight white base and are semi-opaque (OR-119 and RD-228) while the other two are semi-translucent (WN-76 and EX-01). Only the two semi-translucent colors have the balmy texture that I prefer. All four colors are well pigmented with a satiny finish, with the two semi-opaque colors providing full coverage with one swipe, which means I won't be reaching for them much :( So I think these are it for me. Moving on.

- OR-119: more like apricot orange, is shimmer free, and applies true to how it appears in the tube.

- RD-228: appears a neutral red in the tube with fine gold micro shimmers that don't show. It applies a warm red on my lips, most probably from the gold shimmers, and I'd love it more if it weren't for the opacity.

- WN-76: mauve-berry in the tube with violet micro shimmers that don't show. This color turns oddly grape-y on my lips, again probably because of the violet shimmers.

- EX-01: blackberry in the tube and is shimmer free. This color applies a vampy deep wine that's surprisingly flattering on me. Needless to say it's the only hit in the group and is among my favorite vampy colors. See comparison pics below.
