Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Balm

Emboldened by my experience with the luxurious Gucci Baume a Levres Lip Balm, I picked up these Giorgio Armani Ecstasy Balms in the spring of 2022. If I remember correctly, there were only 3 "colors" and I got all 3: 1 Soft Nude/Light Pink, 2 Neo Nude/Deep Pink, and 3 Deep Nude/Plum. The name/name is odd, I know. That's because GA's website and the product packaging don't quite agree on what the actual color names are. The packaging says 1 Soft Nude but the website says 1 Light Pink. Go figure.  

Also, these balms were released in 2018, so by the time of my purchase, they aren't new and have been on the market for a few years. In the years since, they have been discontinued as well.

These balms are held in a pale beige tubes that are unique in shape: they're oblong and not round, with magnetic closure and GA logo in the middle. The tubes are weighty and substantial. They feel nice to hold and not at all plastic-y or cheap, and not bulky either. Overall, these balm have surprisingly nice and elegant packaging. Likey!

 

Formula wise, the balms are very soft, melty, and oily--the good kind. It's a very moisturizing formula, with a glossy finish. There's a mild fragrance, a soft feminine scent with an herbal whiff. Now the catch: there's zero color. As in zip, zilch, nada, nothing. No pigment whatsoever. For $34 per 3g/0.1oz. of product, that's a pretty penny for a lip balm. These have been discontinued, so if you see them on clearance somewhere, sure, try one. But I wouldn't go out of my way to get a hold of them, especially if you're looking for even a hint of color, you'll be sorely disappointed. 

 

- 1 Soft Nude/Light Pink: clear 

- 2 Neo Nude/Deep Pink: coral-colored bullet but swatched pretty much clear and goes on my lips the same way.

- 3 Deep Nude/Plum: grapy-mauve bullet but again, swatched pretty much clear and goes on my lips the same way.
