Been using this 100g pump bottle of Hiyo-Coat Sunscreen Milk Gel SPF35 PA+++ since last summer. This bottle was from a smaller cosmetic maker Dariya which I've never heard of before, but it's a sunscreen for kids that was readily available via Rakuten JP or Yahoo Shopping JP. I say "was" because since the pandemic began, the Japanese government has put many restrictions on international shipping that even Amazon JP is getting super expensive and won't ship some skincare and sunscreen products :(
This is probably one of the better kids sunscreens we've tried. The texture is a milky gel, just as named, which makes it very pleasant to apply as it spreads easily and absorbs quickly. There's a mild menthol scent and slight minty sensation that my little boys haven't complained about. Now this is a daily use sunscreen with an easy-on-easy-off formula not
meant for outdoor activities or swimming, which is to say it's not
waterproof. However, it's great for incidental exposure, the boys going to and from school with a 30-minutes recess in the morning. I didn't notice any dry skin on them last summer when I started using this, and still no dry skin since we started using again a couple of weeks ago when the weather got warmer.
Now the best part of this sunscreen? The yellow ducky bottle. LOL. Kids are hilarious like that. It used to be that hubby and I had to chase them around the house to apply sunscreen. But now, they'll actually grab this bottle and bring it to us, asking for ducky lotion (or "duck sauce," according to hubby). Genius. Will definitely repurchase and stock up if I could ever get a hold of more. In the meantime, I'll be reusing and refilling this bottle with other kids sunscreen. Ha.
