Kiss Mix Heart Cheeks

After spotting the Kiss Mix Heart Cheek on Kiss's website, I stalked Plaza every week (not everyday, are you crazy?) until I see them on display. And as soon as they were, I snatched them up faster than I could count. How could I resist, just look at how cute they are!

All pictures taken in natural light without flash.

Unlike the Pure Bloom Cheeks, which came in sleek and flat square compacts like the Twinkle Angel Highlight, these Mix Heart Cheeks come in rounded compacts that are thicker, though thankfully not too bulky. They do come with a small brush applicator and a piece of rounded cellophane to be placed underneath the brush if you decide to store it inside the compact. I pretty much tossed this brush applicator because I use my own brush.

These are pressed powder blushes and they are very soft and silky, especially the highlighting section that's almost buttery. And funny enough, it's also the highlighting section of the blush that's more pigmented than the actual color even though it's just shimmery powder. And by pigmented I mean it's more opaque, and it's not frosty at all even though it is shimmery. Also, this is not to say the blush itself is not pigmented. It is decently pigmented, just not as much as the highlighting section. These blushes are unscented, and although they have this adorable dotted print-like surface, this goes away the moment I use the blush. Over all, I like what I got and might go back for the Mix Moon Highlighters too.

01 Dolly Pink and 02 Apricot Pink

03 Fruity Orange and 04 Little Rose

There are 4 colors available, 01 Dolly Pink, 02 Apricot Pink, 03 Fruity Orange, and 04 Little Rose. I bought all 4 colors, but after swatching these at home, the blush separately from the highlight as well as both mixed together, I think 01 Dolly Pink is safe to skip since the mixed color ends up being too close to 04 Little Rose. If you have to pick just 1, I'd say go for the 02 Apricot Pink first since it's the reddest, then the 03 Fruity Orange.

01 Dolly Pink: a combo of a shimmery powder pink highlighter and a matte petal pink blush, both mix together for a pearly satiny cool pink.

02 Apricot Pink: the highlighter is a shimmery and paler version of the petal pink blush above in 01 Dolly Pink and the blush is a matte reddish coral. They mix together for a pretty pearly satiny coral.

03 Fruity Orange: a combo of shimmery pastel orange cream highlighter and a matte orangey coral blush. They mix together for a pearly satiny milky orange that turns peachy on my cheeks -.-'

04 Little Rose: the highlighter is a shimmery and slightly warmer version of the petal pink blush in 01 Dolly Pink, and the blush is a matte reddish rose. They mix together for a pearly satiny reddish pink that's a bit too close to the mixed color in 01 Dolly Pink. If you are going to get this one, then skip the 01 Dolly Pink.

From left to right: 01 Dolly Pink, 02 Apricot Pink, 03 Fruity Orange, and 04 Little Rose. The left picture is the highlighter and blush swatched separately, and the right picture is the resulting mixed color. See how close 01 Dolly Pink and 04 Little Rose are after mixing?
