After two years of continuous use, I noticed that hubby was getting bored with his Proraso Shaving Soap in a Jar (he was switching between the white and the green jar) and got him something new to try over the holidays: this 150g bar of
Le Baigneur Shaving Soap No.2 that came in a set with a lidded
Porcelain Bowl.
It was quite a nice soap and bowl set. The lid was meant to hold the soap while the user whips up a nice foam in the bowl. You may have notice the bowl has a matte finish. Not only that, it's rough to the touch and there's a reason: the roughness is to provide friction and helps with the foam-making.
Top lid and bottle of the bowl.
The No.2 Soap has a spicy fragrance, not too masculine and definitely not one
of those hip and suave "metro-sexual" men's cologne scent that's
ubiquitous nowadays. It foams quite well but isn't drying, and hubby has
made a habit of applying aftershave and then moisturizer anyway (he's
using
Komenuka Bijin Komenuka + Collagen Deep Moisture Jell Cream). So far, he's been enjoying this soap. I suspect after another long while he'll get bored again ^.^
