After hubby detested Rafra Essence UV Gel SPF50+ PA++++ that was discontinued, we moved on to this 180g bottle of Essence UV Milk SPF50+ PA++++, which had also been discontinued. Ha!
If you're wondering what was difference between both of these discontinued products, the Essence Gel versus Essence Milk: the gel was not water and sweat proof whereas the milk was. The currently available milk version is also water and sweat proof.
So what's the verdict? The [discontinued] milk was better than the [discontinued] gel, but both hubby and I still prefer the watery, next-to-nothing texture and feel of Nivea Sun Protect Water Gel Super (note: link is for discontinued formula and packaging). Seriously, so far, nothing beats this Nivea water gel yet for us. Yet. Maybe some day in the future they'll come out with more rival products.
Anyway, this Rafra Milk came out of the bottle an opaque milk. It was lighter than the Gel for sure, but was still pretty heavy in general. Being water and sweat proof, it set significantly better than the Gel--velvety and no stickiness, but hubby and I still didn't like how heavy the texture was. And it was still pretty heavily scented with the same citrus scent as the Gel.
Essence UV Gel (blue font, discontinued), this Essence UV Milk (orange font, also discontinued), and the current UV Milk in updated packaging--will try this one next, and hope it'll be lighter and less strongly perfumed (unlikely).
